What a fantastic find. A great traditional French restaurant - excellent service, great food, super wine selection a lovely interior and great value. Easy to miss or underestimate from the outside but worth a visit (or two or..). If you’re after a good value restaurant...that serves excellent French food in a really relaxed and pleasant environment - this it it. No pretence - just great food, service and value.More
Having had a pleasant lunch in a year pre-pandemic I thought we should give it another try with friends.
What a disappointment.
Reading most reviews I can only say that the chef must have changed or some other reviewers are not so discerning.
Instead of...serving a more classic French menu, the dishes were over fussy and bizarre. The main courses came unaccompanied by vegetables and were never even proposed.
The service was slow even though the restaurant was only half full. I got the impression that the two staff were overwhelmed and simply unable to cope. It took 3 attempts to get finally get the bill.
I will not be back.More
The food and service were fantastic. The restaurant has a lovely welcoming feeling. The presentation and quality were the best we have experienced in a long while. We will be making this a regular event. Price was very reasonable. Can’t wait to go back.
What an improvement!!!
Walking into the newly refurbished dining room is as walking into a new friendly, welcoming and relaxing atmosphere that tells you straight away you will have a fantastic time!
We are returning customer and i have to say, the "banquette" stations, glass...wine cellar and cloakroom new design have all impressed me!
The wine list is ever better and gaining in what was already a quality one!
Now what about the food?
Well, Chef Raymond hasn't lost his touch over this sad period and his new menu is "Superb".
Service was also as good as before, so perfect evening!
Augustine kitchen remains the gem of Battersea and we can't wait for our next visit!More
I have been here a lot over the years. Last night had an absolutely superb dinner with family . Over the first lockdown the decoration has been updated, it has a much better atmosphere. Food always good but last night superb: rack of lamb I...and husband had was delicious meat perfectly cooked , potatoes and green beans delicious. Entrecote of beef son and his girlfriend had equally delicious. Other son and his gf both loved their main courses, beef tournado and scallops respectively.
Lobster bisque and french onion soup absolutely full of flavour.
The service excelled itself.More
Lucky the burghers of Battersea and indeed Chelsea just over the bridge to have this authentic Savoyard French bistro in their midst. Or myself and my family who are within a short bus ride of it from Wandsworth, who have often enjoyed lunches here both...on weekdays and at weekends featuring such delights as rabbit leg in mustard or calves’ liver and pomme purée. For lockdown the whole front of the restaurant has been transformed into a French deli selling many of the raw ingredients for their menus including cheese, salamis, vegetables as well as mustards, chutneys and sauces and pre-prepared meals such as confits of lamb and choucroute and a good selection of wines. I picked a Savoyard cheese used in fondues, a salami and a pork confit. Such an excellent idea but probably also an economic necessity.More
Really nice restaurant. Traditional french restaurant in the heart of battersea with a really nice decor and ambience! Amazing staff that really takes care of its clients and the food is delicious as well. I have been there twice with friends and we had a...super nice evening each time! Definitely would recommend it to anyone coming to London Definitely worth trying outMore
Well decorated and well presented, located just a short walk away from Battersea bridge.Interesting menu of french specialities.Service was fine with well presented waitresses. Some plates were very good,a couple of dishes were disappointing.
Not inexpensive so would have preferred more consistent quality.
