This place is held out as a Gastro Pub. It is really hard to find, but after significant perseverance we did find it, and what a disappointment! We were looking for good pub food and what we found was 2 groups (2 bars) of sad...More

Popped in hereafter checking in to nearby hotel. The food menu is basic, sandwiches and toasties, but the beer is lovely. Very fresh and well kept being a Fullers pub with Cask Marque. The surroundings are magic, really atmospheric. Fire was warm too. Will visit...More

Ye Old Mitre was established in 1546. It doesn’t get more authentic than that! Excellent choice of ales including some seasonal brews. Typical pub grub. Grab a seat by the fire and enjoy the atmosphere. One drawback is a very narrow staircase to the second...More

Discovered this very old pub just off Hatton Garden, the diamond quarter of London. A tiny pub down an alley with only three small rooms - one with an open fire. There has been a pub on this site since 1546. I visited about 4.00pm...More

Perfect pub. As a pub should be. Hadn’t been here for a long time. Was great to be back. Difficult to find but just off Hatton Garden. Well worth a visit.

Inner London’s busiest streets crisscross quiet
cobbled lanes for an effect that can be urbane or
quaint – or an intriguing blend of both – depending on
the particular corner you turn. Due to its especially
convenient location, bustling Holborn hosts an
excellent range of hotels, eateries, and shops to suit
practically any taste or budget. With major
attractions like the British Museum and Somerset House

When we were there we didn't see any children. However, there are a number of side rooms that I think it would be fine. I would go to their website and ask them directly.

I've only been here for a drink, but believe the bar snacks are excellent. Not a full restaurant menu, as far as I know, and being in the City of London, they're only open Monday - Friday, not weekends, ; )
