Attended a 50th birthday party last Saturday and it was excellent. The place was able to accommodate us all and the vibes were welcoming and the other people using the pub were cool The staff and the landlady were second to none in their help...and making sure we were all ok. Really a good venue for lots of events, you wont be disappointedMore
I used to like this place when it was a gastro pub. Now they have painted all the walls black, gone all goth, and down sized the tables, taste and depth of the menu. They only seem to have burgers (one or two, with cheese...or bacon and pickles) or haloumi in a bun on the menu, little else on offer. The chips are £4 a throw on top for chips from a frozen bad (NOT real hand-made chips). The wine was (horrors) the most I have EVER paid in my life, £12 for a glass of mediocre wine. Could not go back. Snack cost £54 for 2 bun burgers, a couple of wines and a beer. I have put below that vegetarians cannot get a GOOD meal here. They can, however, get a meal of sorts here.More
Amazing food full of flavour, portions great sizes and 100% worth the money. Will definately be back for more .
Great night out with friends. The Dj played good soul/reggae music which got people up and dancing. I will visit again.
Came here on a Wednesday to play poker, although in the end I was too tired (I shall be back though). Wednesday is games night and there were also pool and darts tournaments going on. Really friendly local pub, welcoming and traditional in feel. Do...check it out if you’re local. Monday to Friday you can order takeaways and they will provide plates and cutlery. Games of pool are free. Both lovely nice little touches. Looks like there are lots of things happening on different nights and the emphasis is on providing a place at the heart of the community. Good on them!More
We popped over to south London and hit app on a really nice pud with a live band as well as a DJ for after hours drinkers ‘ great music ‘ food on offer great car parking. I used a cab’ and I am told...not all public houses sell a Beer called ‘ hülimanń’ it went done well with my group and a nice atmosphere. Forest hill on my pub map. I must say I enjoyed the art work dotted around the pud.More
What a great meal for only £10. Plate was heaving! I couldn't get through it all Really good value. The ambiance was good. Nice log fire burning and it looks like this pub does many events to promote trade. I noticed that they have music...at weekends and a good variety as well. Coming up they have a live performance by a reggae singer which I might attend. Informative board of events coming up.More
Friendly staff and clientele, good location. The music was good too I attended a soul night and I would definitely go again.
Absolutely hideous experience. Food was dreadful- sloppy, cold, raw even - and we waited over an hour. Then when the food did arrive, it took nearly 30 mins for all the groups food to arrive. Then some plates had raw food on and had to...be sent back. Another didn’t have potatoes, another no Yorkshire puddings, and another no parsnips. Cold veg then arrives later. When we tried to complain, we were met with rudeness and ignorance from staff. We then proceeded to ask for a manager, and eventually were offered 10% discount- which we felt took the piss considering the appalling quality of the food and service. I wouldn’t have paid- but they naughtily take your pay beforehand. Would not recommend this horrendous establishment to even your worst enemy.More
This is a large Public House with the capacity to be a very nice place to visit and spend time. However the place needs a good clean on a reg basis, I often go there at weekends and the place is not cleaned at all....The same dead insects have been on the windows for the past three months and it just needs a proper clean. The owners don't seem to be sure if they are a Public House or a Club as they throw out reg drinkers on Sat nights and close the place for private functions. They closed it last Sat for a group of people to have a quiz night. This place could do a lot better but needs good management from people who understand the pub business.More
First time we have been here for a while - but a very nice Sunday Lunch - well cooked and presented and great staff.
Went to Sunday roast with friends and had lamb and the trimmings. The food was well done and enjoyable. However the service has gone downhill since I went there before. The waitress asked if we wanted tap water and it never arrived. She seemed pre-occupied...with her family and small child. She was pleasant but not attentive in the least. Also cheesecake for pudding after a Sunday roast doesnt go. We were disappointed that there was no other choice.More
Wow, what a shocker of a pub. They'd run out of all ales, half the lagers, prosecco, plus various other drinks. The card machine didn't work so they only accepted cash. The place looks run down and the staff are incredibly rude. Never have I...been made to feel so unwelcome at a pub. Avoid at all costs. Apparently it used to be nice but is now under new 'management' if you can call them that.More
It's a Friday night and you get ready to go out for a bite to eat and a drink. We go to the bar and order our drinks, right ok no limes to go with a vodka soda and lime. Could I please have a...bottle of prosecco , no they didn't have any. No they didn't have any Rose wine so after ordering a glass of southern comfort I would be settled for the night but wait for it after a couple of very much large ones they run out of that. It's such a beautiful decorated and well located place you need to get your act together, otherwise it's going to a business failure.More
