Nice pub. The owner publicly chides his staff during a pub quiz. Otherwise decent boozer. Quick service. Regrettable.

I selected this pub out of three possible venues to host my tour guests. I was not disappointed. The staff are just lovely. The pub was very atmospheric with Halloween stuff and my group on the tour found the food to be gorgeous and plentiful...and the staff just so nice. The team who run this pub are true professionals and they know the meaning of service (something which is sadly lacking in London sometimes). If you love history then this place is positively brimming with it. Too much to list here but the pub has the history on its website. What more could you ask for? A rich history, exceptionally friendly staff and good food and drink too. Top points. If I lived in this area it would be my local.More
We go to this pub twice a year as we are not local but we always receive a warm welcome and great service.
Whenever I’m working in London I head for this pub in the evening with my group of visitors from the USA. It ticks all the boxes. Staff are friendly, fun and efficient, the chef produces first rate pub grub and the riverside location and cask...ales is another big plus. It unfailingly gets a big thumbs up from my travellers. A sincere thank you to all the staff with a special shout out for Syd and Michael who consistently go the extra mile for us.More
Came across this place after we had visited The Prospect of Whitby, we had spoken to a black cab driver who advised us to visit, so glad we did, was only expecting to stay for 1 or 2 drink & ended up staying all night,...the place is buzzing, a proper little gem of a place. All the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, especially Sid, he actually made our night a very special one! We were planning on moving on for food but then because the food they were bringing out looked & smelt so nice, we ended up eating there as well!! Will definitely be back. Sid, keep being you, ur a star xMore
We popped in for food but could not see any menus so assumed that they were not serving meals. Had a drink while we were here and used the ladies which was very clean and fresh. Drinks were reasonably priced just a shame there was...no food on offer as we would definitely have eaten here.More
Having not reviewed here since 2018 but have visited every year since its time to say in this review its Very good now. Excellant selection of beers, food good, improved rear decking area outside overlooking the Thames. Staff friendly and cheerful with a warm welcome....Look forward to popping in for a pint again before the end of the year. Well done all.More
Stopped here for lunch on a day trip to the capital. Had fabulous food in their lovely terraced beer garden overlooking the Thames. Friendly bar staff with great knowledge of the beers available. Wouldn’t hesitate to return. Within about 10 minutes walk of Tower Bridge...so we’ll worth a detour if you are visiting the area.More

I had a bowl of chips that were amazing ( would have eaten...as the food we saw was amazing (but big breakfast at our hotel ) . We had two afternoons at the pub . Full both days . Wine was delicious and the guys are so knowledgeable and advising . I got my partner Ray to take a photo. Would have been lovely but I think Ray had partaken in too many real ales and it was blurry !!! . Never mind will defo return for another pic and definitely eating a meal next time . Would be our local if we lived there . A credit to you guys 👍👍More
