Perhaps some would regard this establishment as “just a lobby bar” but when you look carefully, it is really so much more. The lobby is not even visible from the lounge and décor is very interesting to view. What a great place to people watch as guests transit the public areas of this huge complex. The service was tremendous and... More

We loved the changing colours behind the bar! I was worried because the reviews here highlighted that service is slow but we were fine actually. I couldn't see but one waiter who was always scanning the tables for anyone needing something. Every time any of us looked up we'd find him making eye contact to check if we need something.... More

Went here for a birthday celebration on Sunday 4th December with two friends for supposedly 'Bottomless Prosecco Afternoon Tea' at the Edg Bar within the hotel. Hotel itself is nice enough in terms of decor; unfortunately that's where the positive experience ended. Customer service was non-existent - table was not set up when we arrived and the host left us... More

The drinks on their menu are excellent. Don't try to order martinis not on the list. It's outside their capability.

Was at the hotel on business and had lunch here. Extremely good and very friendly service. Had the Edg Club Sandwich. Very innovative and delicious.

I visited here on 17th OCTOBER , I have to say I found the staff really nice, yes it got a bit busier and waited a bit longer for my drink but no biggy, I was delayed waiting for someone so spent several hours here sipping cocktails which were VERY nice none of this premixed stuff all made up for... We went here on a lunch break for a colleagues birthday. Since we generally only get around an hour for lunch, we called up and pre-ordered so that they could have the food ready for when we arrived at 1pm. We actually requested this on the phone and they said that it was fine. We also told them on the... More

After a yummy Lebanese meal at a nearby restaurant the night before, I made the mistake of ordering a fattoush salad at the EDG bar. Ugh. My husband's burger was less disgusting.

I really enjoyed my evening here on a weekday evening. The bar was stunning and had a wow factor to it. It was relaxed yet sophisticated at the same time. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. Had a lovely unusual cocktail at a fair price. I will definitely return if I'm in the area.

We stayed at the Metropole hotel and this bar is part of it. Good service but drinks very expensive - a mango juice with crushed ice and chilli was £7.

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
