Wife and I made a quick trip to London. Looking for a pub near our hotel where we could enjoy some authentic food. Saw a picture of the sausages and mash and knew we had to dine there. We were not disappointed. The British Outdoor-Bred...Pork Sausages & Spring Onion Clotted Mash was fantastic! Coming back tomorrow for dinner. The atmosphere was very pleasing with soft background music making for an enjoyable ambiance. The staff are very friendly.More

Ordered 3 pints of London Pride. £6 a pint. £18.90 I asked what the 90p was for - ‘a service charge’ I was told. ‘Really’ - I asked. ‘Yeah, if you want the beer you need service’ said the clever dick behind the bar. I’m...happy to pay for a decent pint but when you are at the bar, queuing and getting ‘served’ normally, no table service, I think that’s just taking things too far. I even took our empty glasses back to the bar after - perhaps I should have charged them!More
Hi Nellyjim, Sorry to hear of your frustrations with the 5% service charge. This is an optional service charge, displayed at the tills, menus and on receipts. This was incorporated to provide a small bonus to the hard work that the team put in to...More

First time here on Saturday (end of May), as our normal Covent garden pub is currently closed, however glad we visited, nice pub with good bar staff ordered drinks and had a banter with the barman as the wine took the longest to serve (his...words), however to clarify every time he went to get the wine one of the other bar staff got in his way, but he seen the funny side and so did I, so appreciated his honest banter! Because of the above we decided to go back on the Sunday afternoon for a few drinks again the Staff were really friendly and the clientele was a good mix of age groups. Actually have previous photographs of the outside of this pub later in the year and the flower display is terrific they have planted this year's display so probably worth a visit just for the floral display! Will definitely visit next time in London.More

Very disappointing visit to this pub which was advertising‘home cooked food’. A very limited menu but we both chose fish and chips. This was by far the worst fish and chips my friend and I have ever eaten. The chips were so burnt they were...almost black and the fish batter so hard you could hardly cut it. Tiny piece of fish inside rock hard batter. We complained to the staff who sent the manager to our table. He said there was nothing he could do except speak to the chef. We were not even offered a complimentary coffee after a quite expensive inedible meal.More
I good pub to stop at when walking in the Covent Garden area. The staff are helpful and friendly and the interior is lovely. A good selection of beer on tap and serves hot drink aswell. A lovely pub all round
Visited here for a private function and was thoroughly impressed with the way the whole event was run. I have been past here many times in...the past, now I will be frequenting it more often.More

Located on the border of Theatreland and Covent Garden, the Crown and Anchor is a busy and bustling pub serving a variety of drinks. We dropped in for a drink late afternoon when we had just come out of a matinee show and were surprised...to be able to get a seat inside. Staff were quick and efficient although drinks were pretty expensive but I suppose that's London prices. We did not eat here so cannot comment on the food quality or service but we enjoyed the drink we had here.More
