Looking forward to try this restaurant as we moved near by. The mixed grill was very small and very dry and after we told the waiter, he laughed at us. Eventually he changed it for a prawn curry, but they were small shrimps, no prawns...at all. Couldnt be bothered to ask again as the service we had was not good at all. Toilettes were dirty too Overall, very bad experience. Shame,as we love indian food and we would have been regular otherwise. We will not be backMore

We really enjoyed the food and thought it tasted really authentic and to a high quality. The service was brilliant and the waiters were very friendly and helped us decide on what to order.

We went there Saturday night for a meal as was highly recommended to us! Although no one else in restaurant there was 4 tables reserved so thought it was popular. The chicken tikka balti dish came out in a ceramic dish not a normal metal...balti dish. There was no sauce at all just soaking in oil! Not nice to dip a naan in to! Upside service was very good but maybe that was because we were the only ones there and by the way they shut at 11pm we left at 10.15 and none of the reservations had turned up by then! 🤔More

We came here for a quick bite and had a very pleasant experience. The people at this family run restaurant are very friendly and the food was delicious. Would definitely go back!

We were staying at a hotel across the street, it was raining, and we had the excellent fortune of stumbling upon this gem of a place. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed every dish. The briyani is amazing, the tikka is amazing, you...can’t go wrong with any of the vegetable dishes, the naan is perfection. I definitely plan on coming again!More

I don't see phall curry on many Indian restaurant menus, so when I do I order it. The chicken phall was definitely spicyey, but not so flavourful. We also ordered 2 other king prawn plates which were average. I didn't expect the amount of potatoes...in the dishes. The meal was completed with Kingfisher and Cobra beers and mango lassi.More

Reliable Indian food in an attractive reliable Indian restaurant decor. They had no decaf coffee, but the owner went into his private stash to oblige me, for which I was very grateful.

We stop off at Great India on our way back from Chelsea Flower Show. Usually we don't bother to book, but this year we were organised. Just as well because, as usual, the restaurant was heaving. We received a warm welcome and seated at a...spacious table in this quite small restaurant. The number of people tucking in made no difference to the speed of the service which, as always, was super efficient. Papadoms and chutney helped with the decision-making. The 'Doms were crispy and the chutneys tasty and fresh. Straight into mains of Chicken Green Masala (which sounded delicious) and my Chicken Zeera. We ordered a side of veggie curry, pilau rice, and a kulcha nan. The sides were fine. Portions are a reasonable size. Sadly, though, the mains tasted the same (their descriptions were quite different) and were bland. This was different from previous years when the curries were well-spiced and tongue-tingling. This year something was wrong. The sauces tasted as if they came from a large communal vat, and lacked finesse. This was a real shame. I stress that the curries were very edible, just bland. A large red wine (mediocre) and 2 pints of Kingfisher rounded off the meal, the bill for which totalled £83. This is Chelsea so don't expect a cheap curry. On this occasion the value fell a bit short (but previous years have been very good). Will we come back to Great India in 2020? I expect so, when, hopefully, the spices will be fresh and zinging.More
