Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue for our wedding reception! From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted by the most friendly and welcoming staff we could have hoped for. Their warmth and enthusiasm made us feel like we...were among friends, and that set the tone for the entire evening. The location itself was absolutely stunning. The pub was beautifully designed and decorated, creating a charming and cozy atmosphere that was perfect for our celebration. It provided the ideal backdrop for our special day, and our guests were in awe of the venue's charm. One aspect that was particularly important to us was finding a gay-friendly venue, and we were thrilled with the inclusive and accepting environment the pub offered. It was clear that they not only welcomed but celebrated all forms of love, which meant the world to us and our LGBTQ+ friends and family. Our wedding reception at this venue was an unforgettable experience, thanks in no small part to the incredible staff, the fantastic location, and the warm and inclusive atmosphere. We couldn't recommend this venue more highly for anyone looking to celebrate their love in a truly special place.More

I was tempted in by a menu including a flatiron steak and chips for £16. When this was unavailable I asked about a lamb kofta and pitta bread but that wasn’t available either. So I opted for a beef burger gherkin and cheese with chips....And very good it was too. A nice atmosphere in a long room between entrance and open-plan kitchen beneath a large clock. Very pleasant efficient and apologetic service. But no coffee until 2022.More

My family have had several events here in the past and I recently hired the pub for private hire for my 21st birthday. Everything was done exactly how I wanted, they were able to accommodate special menu requests, managed to get a later license so...we could have the venue to our desired time and put up fairy lights to accommodate the 1920s theme. The food was so tasty, we had finger food/canapé style spring rolls, mozzarella sticks, stuffed potato skins and chips and sweet potato fries. Everyone commented on how delicious everything was. The cocktails at the pub are also delicious and I particularly enjoyed the dark and stormy that was made for me, as a present from the team; they also supplied a couple of extra bottles of Prosecco on top of what I had preordered. Everyone there on the night was so lovely and helpful, everything went so smoothly and could not have asked for better service or a more accommodating team. Shoutout to Chris (who looks like Johnny Depp) for really going above and beyond to create a friendly atmosphere and make sure I could ask for whatever I needed on the night, really appreciated tho e great service :) Unfortunately most of the photos are of guests and not the venue but I’ve attached a few so you can see how nice it really is, especially when the fairy lights and balloons are up! Thank you so much everyone !! XxMore

I visited this bar, which is perfectly situated in the heart of London for a drink on weekday afternoon. The staff were pleasant and the bar was decorated well, I sat by the window which is good for watching the world go by. My only...issue is that they do not accept proper money, only card payments, which is a great shame. As the customer, cash is my preferred payment choice, and as the original method of payment, I feel this form of tender should be accepted.More

Stopped in for a meal at 3 - random time cause of the jet lag. Very friendly staff, gave great recommendations for what else to do. Chicken and mushroom pie was delicious. Quinoa salad was nice and light.

We visited here a few times on our recent trip as staying around the corner at the premier inn. All the staff were friendly answering any questions we had and offering tips which made our trip so much easier. We didn’t eat here although the...food looked good and was reasonably priced. Would go again if in the area.More

Really great to find a good range of decent (and different) ales - nice to have 'choice'. Although we didn't have time to eat a full meal here, the menu looked to offer a good vegetarian selection as well as lots of other dishes. Very...friendly and helpful staff. Nice atmosphere and look / feel of the pub. We look forward to coming back here the next time we're in London. (Another small 'plus' - this pub has the comfiest bar stools we've ever sat on!).More

We're both cider drinkers and many places we go don't offer any decent ciders on tap and only have a small selection of bottled cider. Here, there are a few ciders on draught all of which are decent. The food was very good. We started...with the scotch eggs and they tasted great. Then it was pie and mash and the pork belly for mains. Lots of food and really good quality. For pudding we just squeezed in a white chocolate torte. We got a very friendly welcome and the service was very good throughout the evening. If we were in the area in the future and looking for food or a quick drink we'd definitely be back here.More
