Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The manic and unapologetic cook was unable to make a proper Greek salad (it was listed on the board)and it took 30 minutes to come. No feta. Very few in the cafe so not busy. The charming young lady on the till coped very well...in the dire circumstances, offering free coffee.More

The food was excellent, however, it was very annoying that the servers started clearing our table before we had all finished eating. This a very basic thing that Staff should be aware of.

Lovely location and it ends there. The hot food is abysmal. I ordered a pizza, thinking that the Italian name and owner would stand for something. I'm afraid not. I took one look at the pizza swimming in oil on the plate and left it....The coffees were equally bad. The milk was scorched and the coffees so hot that 15min later they were still to hot to drink. Needless to say, I decided to go eat somewhere else. Definitely do not recommend.More

We alway love going for a walk at the Lido and then stop for coffe and something to eat in the cafe. More in the summer as the weather is better so we can sit outside as we have a dog. Today we decide to...go for a walk with our dog and just get a coffee on the go as it’s freezing outside. With our surprise now they have an area inside that it’s dog friendly so decided to have something to eat as well. Well done Carmine and Eleonora, a great addition to your café. The only disappointment is that people without dog sits in the dog friendly area despite being free tables in the other areaMore

I also witnessed the manager bullying staff. Honestly reminded me of Joe Pesci going off on one in one of the mobster movies. Food is standard cafe fair. Portion size is healthy, although I can see why people its small. Definitely a great location, right...by the inland beach, mini railway stop and toilets.More

I usually don't write reviews, but I had to this time. The food is very bad and seems that it has been reheated. I had jacket potato with cheese, but the cheese was not melted and had a strange taste. My friend had fish which...was burnt and smelled off. I had another problem with my meal which I raised with the manager who started to make fun and be very agressive towards me and telling me that I am making up things. His customer service skills are NON EXISTENT. I can't believe he is the manager of this place. I also witnessed on a separate ocassion how he was shouting and swearing at a customer.More

The cafe has a beautiful location and the ice cream here is delicious and not a bad price but the guy who seems to be in charge is extremely rude and seems to think that it is acceptable to shout at and humiliate customers.

Avoid this place like the plague. The manager/owner is a bully who take pleasure in shouting abuse at customers. He confronted me while l was standing inside waiting for my kids, accusing me that l was jumping the queue. I explained to him that l...was not queuing yet and he became aggressive and start shouting and swearing although my kids had arrived. They were shocked and frightened. Terrible experience and talking to other clients it seems that this is a typical behaviour of his. Bring your own food and drinks.More

The staff wouldn’t let us sit down outside, even though it was practically empty. Due to them turning us away, we had to get Ubereats to deliver us Starbucks. I will not be going again, glad I didn’t spend any money in there since the...staff are beyond rude!More

Staff are always friendly, turned up one day and the doors were closed just on 4pm, after a walk around the lake we were in need of refreshment. A guy came out to the bins and we asked if they had closed, he was kind...enough to let us get a cup of tea before he locked the doors. We go here at least 3 times a week, always stop for a drink and sometimes food, everything is spotlessly clean, and the food and drink is always good.More

It is always busy (a good sign) with very friendly, efficient service and tasty food. It is situated on a beautiful spot overlooking the Lido so don't hurry past - call in for a take-away (during lockdown) and when lockdown is lifted for a sit...down meal. It is a fun place to out to.More

As a local resident of Tooting, I have been visiting San Remo café for years. The manager (with black hair) of the cafe is extremely rude and visibly bullies her staff in front of customers. She constantly shouts at them and belittles them and it’s...very uncomfortable to watch. On top of that, she recently served me a hollow scoop of ice cream which cost me £2.50. I could see what she was doing and I was shocked. When I have been served by other members of staff, I have not had this experience. It’s enough to make me decide to never visit this cafe again, and spread the word to families in the community. Never again. I feel sorry for the staff. The manager quite clearly cuts corners and charges too much. I will not be visiting until there is new management.More

Came here twice while going to the Lido, and for a place that is quite far away from most of the Ruislip food options, their prices are very decent (the only thing that comes a bit expensive is the ice cream, but then it is...quite good). The food is pretty unpretentious Caf food, with nice fries and everything fresh, the only points where it let me down a bit was the salad sides (disappointing considering they are the alternative to a side of fries, which seems more generous, well-made and rewarding). But it is not a health food place, so never mind the salad. The other thing I cannot recommend is the pasta for children, I ordered some for my daughter, and it was a very dry heap of noodles with hardly any sauce on it. Fish fingers or chicken/fries might be a better choice there. I also find the staff very nice, they are friendly and do not bicker amongst each other either.More
