Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great little East End London pub. I stumbled across this gem while walking in Bethnall Green. I just had a pint but they do great pies and mash.

What a find , a beautiful local pub with a great vibe even on a Monday evening at 6pm , a full house and the brave or foolhardy sitting outside .!A great choice of beers and wines makes choosing your tipple difficult ! However the...big house surprise is a menu offering a number of delicious pies that Desperate Dan would fight for if you were brave enough ! The pie comes with mash potato and mushy peas , I chose steak and kiddly, I meant kidney, diddly I 😂 just delicious all very reasonably priced .Undoubtedly we shall return to this oasis if only to see the Camel on the bar 😎More

Random visit as was nearby. They fitted a group of 5 of us plus one whippet. They were so friendly and fussed over our whippet. Super perfect pub food for a Sunday. They looked after all the well behaved dogs- so recommended! We will be...back- the ladies behind the bar were wonderful.More

The Camel in Bethnal Green is a fantastic traditional East End Boozer and a favourite of our old boys club. Not our first visit it has to be said but it just gets better and better. Lovely landlady and great staff provide a warm and...welcoming atmosphere. Excellent line up of Ales including a gorgeous drop of Wandle and a scrumptious selection of Pies. Note to self must go again soon!More

Always loved The Camel and called in NYE for a couple…got chatting to so many people, got drunk, went home happy…it’s a creative, boozy, cockney atmosphere. Just brilliant. Sat next to Debbie the manager who was having a great time with her very gorgeous friends…didn’t...stay til’ midnight- maybe next year. Thanks Debbie and everyone!More

I was at the Camel with my wife Saturday night. It’s one of our favourite pubs, but don’t away get the chance to go there. What happen that evening, was unpleasant for me, my wife any anyone who witnessed it. When I spoke with the...manger (a few days later), she was shocked by what has happened and very apologetic. She reassured me that the Camel is not that kind of Pub. I believed her and all my previous visits to the Camel had been really enjoyable. I hope that my review goes some way in alleviate any concerns people may have about the pub and its staff. Lastly, I would also like to thank the women (seating behind us) who checked on us, that night.More

Was at the Camel on Saturday night, looked like a nice pub especially on a wet night. But the night left me and my friends feeling very uncomfortable. Saw an Asian guy (he still had his NHS id badge on his belt, must have come...from work), there with his girlfriend get racially abuse by white guy, we could hear it a few table away. And the bar staff did nothing, worse than, they call him over by his first name and then got him another drink. Cannot believe how complicit the staffs were, in creating an unsafe place. We are never going back.More

Really enjoyed my visit today. The food was delicious and the beer was fresh. This is a friendly, cosy, authentic East London pub with a lovely neighbourhood atmosphere. It's a shame there aren't more pubs like this left in London. Will be going back soon.
