I was told about this place from a friend. I read some of the reviews on here & was a bit concerned. I needn’t have worried we had a great evening lovely food, great service, lovely atmosphere & fab sherry. I would say slightly pricey...More
I went there with friends, had a nice table in the front but that was the best part. Being a Friday night, there were maybe 3 other parties at tables, that should've been a red flag. Food portions were small (for the price) and mediocre...More
What a great place! Authentic Spanish atmosphere great food and lovely service.
Actually Drakes Tabanco is not just a tapas bar. Dishes are modern and imaginative. All tapas are creative and delicious. It’s so nice to have tapas that’s not the run-of-the-mill stuff.
Went here with friends and similar to others posting reviews here we ended up with salmonella food poisoning. Spent a solid week in bed and couldn't move much in the first few days because of the pain. Got the whole list of symptoms, all of...More

I visited the restaurant last weekend and I was not impressed. I ordered the sea bass meal (15 pounds) and there was barely any food on the plate. I felt very disappointed and did not feel full by the end of the meal. To make...More
Decoration, ambience were nice with friendly staff. Very romantic setting! However, the smallest portions of food known to man were served at around £15-£16 per plate - wasn’t worth it at all! We ordered the sea bass and duck breast which was served on gigantic...More
Previous visits have been good and I enjoyed the cosy surroundings and tasty tapas.
The menu has now changed and was really unappetising. It has lost it’s Spanish authenticity and has gone for an odd fusion of flavours. Out dishes this time had a thai...More
It used to be our favourite place.
Cosy atmosphere and delicious tapas. The high quality food was served with great attention to detalis.
After our recent visit,we were truly mortified when instead of the amazing tapas we were served some poor quality dishes which were...More
This sophisticated and sociable slice of Central London is a shopper’s paradise, offering the latest fashions, gadgets, and souvenirs. Fitzrovia is conveniently located between the major retail thoroughfares of Regent Street to the west and Tottenham Court Road to the east, with a handful of well connected Tube stations dotted around the area for easy transport. This neighbourhood is a favorite
among foodies as well, with an impressive number of quality restaurants, pubs, cafes and food shops vying for your patronage – especially along Charlotte Street and near Goodge Street Station.

We're so glad you enjoyed the 35 year old sherry at Drakes. Which style/s did you have? Fortunately for Londoners and unfortunately for the rest of the world we are the only place outside of the Fernando de Castilla Bodega that you can enjoy these unique wines outside of barrel. However, the good news is we can recommend the bottled range of Antique Fernando de Castilla sherry. The next best thing after drinking straight fro barrel. If you Google in the US then I am sure some names of suppliers will come up. As for Estepona...!

I am not aware of a dress code per se. We were all dressed nicely but not dressed up when we went there. Along the lines of "business casual." It is a comfortable setting, so while it would be fine to wear a sport coat, no one will notice if you don't. Hope that helps! IN fact, one of our ladies wore a nice pair of jeans and did not feel uncomfortable at all.
Funny, I was just thinking of Drake's an hour ago when I bought some Sherry to go with the raw oysters we are having an an app for Valentine's dinner. Enjoy!
