Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

To start with, be warned Bethnel Green can be a rough area. On walking 20 minutes from the train station, 3 streets were tapped off due to a local stabbing and murder of a man with police standing in pairs. On arriving for our birthday...present which cost over £75- we were taken downstairs to sit with some cats. The cats were lovely and the environment peaceful, the staff were polite but for £75? two scones and two teas? plus service charge....sorry its over rated. The cats are not really that receptive which is fine, but they obviously don't ever go outside, so they look pretty fed up with being tampered with by strangers all day in my view, as I am a cat psychologist. They were ok, and safe yes and well fed, looked after yes, but mostly after lunch they just want to sleep and be left alone-if you are a cat person you can tell this. So for decoration they are fine, and yes the kitten will play but even then one cat will get tired of so much attention. The cafe was clean, but for the area, the price? far too much. If this was Chelsea then maybe, but no, sorry I am just being 100% truthful and honest. Don't waste your money.More

The staff were lovely and friendly and very knowledgeable about all the cats. We were in the basement in the corner and were lucky enough to be hanging out with Juno the kitten, Oliver twist(the most gorgeous puss ever) who anointed me as the chosen...one by touching my head from the shelf above. Charlie was also there and it made for the most wonderful visiting. Highly recommend, and thanks again to all the staff and cats. I love Oliver ❤️More

I was a bit surprised to have to pay £20 per person to just get a spot in the cafe, especially as this did not include any food. However, I liked the idea of visiting a cat "emporium" with a lot of cats to interact...with so wanted to give it a try. Although the staff and food were lovely, the actual interaction with the cats was very minimal. The cats provided nice decoration but that is all that they were. They did not approach us, or interact with the toys we were given to try to play with them, or really let us pet them. The cats could have been having a bad day? It really is not worth the money just to get a booking.More

We spent 90 minutes here and had a cream tea it was lovely inside but the cats do not approach you at all, once we had our tea and scones we just wandered around trying to find a cat to stroke, whilst I understand the...cats must be so used to people in and out we found it a bit boring and not really worth the money I overheard the staff keep telling customers how much time they had left in there even though they were nice i found that a bit off-puttingMore

Having been to cat cafes elsewhere, we were really looking forward to this, particularly as it had so many good reviews. We were sadly disappointed though. While we understand why it needs a cost to get in, it’s a very expensive. None of the cats...seemed particularly interested in being stroked or having any attention. We were also quite disappointed by the cost quality of the food . All in all, not worth the trip out.More

My friend and I recently visited this cat cafe and had an amazing time. Not only were the cats well looked after, the staff were very polite and knowledgeable. The food and drink was also to die for. We ended up leaving early as I...had a minor allergic reaction (at absolutely no fault of the cafe, they were amazing about my allergy). Afterwards I was sent an email and my food and drinks were refunded. Honestly the most understanding treatment I have ever received.More

The design of the cafe is like a big cat house, which I a liked. There are many cats you can pet and play with (as they have many toys there). I had hot chocolate with soy milk, vegan whipped cream and marshmallow. I have...enjoyed it so much. The vanilla cup cake needs improvements as the cake was dry and not tender and the cream was extremely sweet. Nice and friendly employees especially the waitress. The cat carer gave us information about every cat we were interested in. Prices of food and drinks are average.More

Fabulous afternoon with the cats, The cats were happy and well cared for. We had afternoon tea which was the nicest scone I had ever tasted before with clotted cream and jam. If you love cats I would thoroughly recommend visiting this cafe

I was a bit sceptical before I went to the cafe, wondering if the cats might really feel comfortable in a touristy environment.  But I was pleasantly surprised about the whole concept. The environment, though mostly artificial, is really cat friendly and there are lots...of places for the cats to withdraw to if they need a timeout of playing and being cuddled. The carers are very friendly, but at the same way determined if the guests do something the cats don't seem to enjoy. They also never got tired of answering questions and it was interesting to learn about the stories and characteristics of the different feline inhabitants. The stars of the cafe - the cats - all seemed very well-kept. There were playful cats, cuddly cats, more quiet ones and some liked to keep their distance, which is absolutely OK. Yes, you have to pay an entrance fee - but what do people expect?! It is a CAT cafe, so in addition to the regular business costs there are pets to care and pay for! This should be the main focus for guests, as it definitely is for the staff. Here in Germany, animal shelters don't know how to cope with the masses of abandonned or stray cats, and I guess it is similar in England. So - in my eyes this is an innovative and good way to raise money AND awareness, and maybe even find a forever home for some of the pawesome cuties! Two more remarks at the end: Food and drink was yummy, and I totally fell in love with Irie! ❤😊More

We went out of our way to go here as we really wanted to go to a cat cafe and this seemed the best one to go to in London. We were sat downstairs. The cafe has been done nicely. The cats have lots of...places to hide away, if they wish to. Other cats were more than happy sat in the window. We enjoyed a couple of cocktails while hereMore

Missing my cat back in Australia we discovered this place. We didn’t book, but we’re seated quickly. The cats have free reign of a beautiful space. You are asked to not touch them when they are eating or sleeping. We are bao buns and cat-shaped...scones. There’s an upstairs and downstairs too. The cats can be adopted.More

I purchased a cream tea experience for a great friend of mine who is a huge cat lover. Sadly, we were extremely disappointed. The good bits. 1.The vegan scone was warm and delicious together with a lovely pot of tea. 2.Vegan options available. 3.Lovely staff....The bad bits. 1. We were located in the basement which was humid, dark and dank and smelled of cats wee. 2. The cream tea was £54 for 2 people and consisted of one scone, jam and cream and a pot of tea. I could have had a full lunch meal cheaper elsewhere! 3. The guests didn't seem to know what to do and there was an awkward atmosphere. 4. The poor cats looked fed up apart from a couple of kittens who were playing. 5. A complete money making enterprise, very disappointing.More
