This small, neighborhood Indian eatery is a gem! We were renting a flat in the area last year and fell in love with this family (two brothers) run restaurant. We ended up eating here 3 times last year over a week and did so again...this year on our return to London. You will find standard curry dishes you expect and they are all very done. The chef’s daily specials took us on a journey to a Bangladeshi wedding celebration with a chicken curry dish that was familiar in flavour profile but just different enough to cause pause. Simply fantastic! Another night it was a Pakistani beef curry that the Chef started to cook at 10am so it would be ready for dinner service. Wow! The depth of flavour in both of these curries had my wife talking about both days after the meal. The two brothers who own the restaurant are charming and friendly. The server (Tony) who seemingly works most days is kind, friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and a true ambassador for the restaurant. The restaurant does not serve alcohol but there are stores around the corner where you can grab some beer or wine to bring in with you. We didn’t but my wife loved the masala chai. Not a bad dish on the menu (and we tried quite a few!). Restaurant is popular with locals who live in the area and it was full every time we ate here. Prices are reasonable for London. Highly recommended.More

Just finished an amazing meal at Cafe Tiffin, the food was wonderful, full of flavour and depth that is rarely seen. It is a small but busy place and the staff managed to find me a table, they were all very friendly and welcoming, creating...a great atmosphere. All in all, a great place to visit and I would definitely eat here again.More

Everything, from beginning to end was outstanding! The service, by Tony, was so well done and made for a most enjoyable meal. The food was presented beautifully and was kept hot perfectly so that savoring how absolutely delicious it was was easy. I can’t begin...to think when I’ve had such a delightful meal and evening!! We will highly recommend this charming spot to everyone coming to London. BE SURE TO MAKE RESERVATIONS…this is too good to miss!More

Had a solo dinner here while away on business and was made to feel really welcome. Menu was refreshingly different and I really enjoyed taking my time over what to order. Food was absolutely delicious, and definitely had a point of difference to other Indian...restaurants (you know, the ones with the carbon-copy menus). Just knocked off a star as I was absolutely desperate for a beer after a long day, and they only had alcohol free. If this isn't a deal-breaker, I heartily recommend!More

Firstly. If you want an alcoholic drink it’s BYO. Chutneys with poppadoms were very good, especially the onion salad. We skipped starters. Parathas were flaky and mouth filling - delicious. The prawn Madras sauce was perfect, and the sides were fresh tasting and the spices...popped.More

We researched Indian food close to Islington and decided to try Cafe Triffin. What an excellent choice we made. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed by the staff and we saw the owner for a minute who also welcomed us. All the dishes...we asked about the staff took the time to explain. Every dish was perfectly cooked, and some were the best we've ever had. We would definitely like to return.More

I ate here last night with a friend after ordering a takeaway the week before. I’m staying in the area for a few weeks on business and think this place is amazing! There are only approximately 24 “covers” so highly recommended making a reservation! I...can’t wait to return! A special thank you to our waiter, apologies on the spelling of our name Turin, you are an asset to the restaurant! Great food and service!More

This is a great little restaurant. I looked at the reviews and have come to the opinion that ‘Dave973’ has either 1) reviewed the wrong place 2) works for a competitor (as if anyone would do that) 3) came on a bad day (hard to...imagine now I have been here) 4) doesn’t actually like good food! Visited on 16/01/23. Table for 1 in the corner near the window. I found the waiting staff informative, clear and helpful. This restaurant doesn’t have a licence, so just bring your own alcohol. It’s a small place, so it is possible you maybe disappointed if you arrive at a busy time. I found the food accurately described, very ‘clean’ and flavoursome. I thought the menu was extensive. The naan was probably the best I’ve had; the saag aloo was great. My only criticism would be that the main course could be ‘prettier’ - but don’t be fooled, it was really tasty. It is easy to ignore these small restaurants, but on price and quality they shouldn’t be discounted.More
