Has the marketing department offered the posh press free chips for life? Without coming over all libellous, I simply can't understand the accolades. It must just be PR. Tried most of the menu now and concluded that the best thing here is the tartar sauce (rich in capers) and the calamari. The fish in batter is usually too dark, the... More

Everything is generally over cooked. They're usually stingy with the (rather bland) fish and overly generous with the (rather dry) chips. The one and only redeeming feature is the decor - the place looks great. I just wish the food wasn't so horrible.

Ignore the nitpickers - the fish and chips here is the best you will find for miles and miles around, and at a very reasonable price for the quality. The service is exemplary from kind, considerate staff, and the place is spotless. Go, stuff yourself with gorgeous fresh fish and proper chip-shop chips, and leave happy.

Haddock was very small and the fish was brown which is always a bad sign. The chips were undercooked and the mushy peas were also brown - and were so congealed that they had to be sliced! Worst fish and chips I can remember eating - and over priced

Looks good on paper, with smart packaging and branding, but the food doesn't cut it , I'm afraid. I ate in and had cod and chips , scampi ,with lemon mayonnaise and a beer . This eponymous pale ale was nice and complemented the meal well , the best part of which was the large portion of chips, crisp texture but... More

We had dinner at the Mortlake branch, the place is lovely and with Tastecard it was excellent value. However I couldn't give it a higher rating because we both felt that it was rather over-cooked - the battered fish in particular was dark brown and very crunchy rather rather than being light and golden!

Great fish&chips with many extras like delicious Coleslaw salad or traditional peas mash. You can choose 5 or 6 kind of fish. Chips are prepared in a special way, they are crispy, but extremely soft inside. Nice stuff, quick service. It's nice to eat inside, but you can also order to take away, what most people do. I highly recommend... More

Very good different types of fish selection. Cooked well. Salads are very good too. Bit too busy for me. But staff are very nice.

Just before walking into the restaurant I read the last review before having to write mine which was VERY DISAPPOINTING & UPSETTING as I DID NOT think I would be having to do this!! I wish I had listened to the persons last review that is terrible!!! I was thinking I had a delivery once before & it was good... More

Why is it so difficult to get good fish and chips? I'm no expert but I think the problem is that the fish is battered whilst still wet and the fat isn't hot enough. The result is soggy!! Also although the staff are charming the shop itself is extremely dark and depressing. You certainly wouldn't want to eat in -... More
