As we happen to stay close to Putney bridge this restaurant happens to be one of our favourite restaurants. It has great food and the vault (basement hotel) is a grandeur tunnel hotel in putney. They serve great pies - vegetarian and non vegetarian options, with live music. The service is really good and hence makes the visit even better.... More

We were a group of approximately 25/30 of us celebrating a small wedding. Not exactly a typical wedding reception venue, but I have to say it was brilliant. I was a little dubious but I needn't have been. It's quite sort of basic, we were in the vault, the name describes the scene, right by the river and Putney Bridge.... More

Whilst the food was really good we had to wait around an hour after we'd finished our starter before our mains arrived. 2 tables that were next to us that had both arrived and ordered after us, received their food before us. The general confusion in the restaurant made us feel as though our order had been forgotten or not... More

My friend that lives in Putney took me to the downstairs pub part of this restaurant. It was so cool. It is essentially and old tunnel that goes under the street that they converted to a bar. The restaurant is on top, but people were eating down there as well. They had a DJ that played house music and it... More

Claiming to have "the best pies in land" raises the bar of expectations. Indeed, theirs are far better than those at most of British pie shops in London; being an independent business, prices are consequently a little higher than average (excluding set/lunch meals, pies come for £12-13 including mash). The wild rabbit&apple pie didn't have much of meat, plenty of... More

Quirky location near Putney Bridge particularly down in the Vault. Good atmosphere, plenty of drink choices and a diverse pie menu. I had the pulled pork pie which was delicious and the other had steak and ale which went down well too. There are non pie options but why go to a pie place if you don't want one. I... More

A hearty homemade meal served just by the river in Putney! I've been twice for both lunch and dinner, both times, the food is delicious! Atmosphere changes from day time to night but I recommend coming back again to either having the signature pie or a deconstructed beef wellington with crispy chips.

Called with my brother in law who had been before. Went into the basement area and sat at trestle table. Prompt service and wide range of beers. The Green Devil IPA at 6% ABV was excellent. Ordered a beef ale and stilton pie which came with gravy and mash we shared a bowl of mixed vegetables. The pie was piping... More

My two sons had eaten at Putney Pies previously and said the food was excellent so we thought we would try it for a family birthday meal. The first impression as I walked in was of being in a rustic cafe with a mish mash of wooden tables and chairs and so my initial thoughts were that I would not... More

My son and I were hungry and fancied a pie. We had been eying Putney pies for a while so we took the opportunity to visit. They have a good menu for someone hungry for simple food, some exotic pies but also some straightforward steak and ale, chicken and leek as well as a good variety of other food, salads,... More
