Still wonderful quality after many years, good variety, stairs to upper floors might be a problem for older customers

Lunch booking for five adults and baby - useful lift to take pram+father up to 2nd floor. Very busy and very fast efficient service. Great food, similar to what we've eaten before at the New World and Dumplings Legend, but perhaps even better quality. Less than £75 for the five of us and we were all very satisfied and full of... Terribly efficient in managing the tables even on very busy days. Good for dim sum. Not particularly fine but honest. Even if in China town.

Dim Sum at JKL is probably the best I have tasted, outside of China. This unimposing restaurant serves up fresh, tasty Dim Sum with unequalled speed and courtesy. Absolutely to be recommended. ... and did I say it was extremely reasonably priced?

Maybe I'm not the best person when it comes to Chinese food, it's not my favourite, so make of this what you will. I came here with a party of 20, the food was good but not great, the service was good in the sense we never wanted for anything but they could have been a little friendlier. I should... More

Honestly one of my favourite places to eat in London. As other reviewers have commented the staff are super rude - I've been a regular customer since I was about 7 - and the staff are still as rude as ever. However, if you know that's what you are getting, honestly the dim sum is worth it. I've been after... More

This place has so many good food stickers on the window that you can hardly see in or out! You just know it must be good when you see so many Chinese eating here. We decided to try the dim sum menu, and were spoilt for choice. The friendly waitress told us we would have enough, and I'm glad we... More

It's our friend's birthday and we decided to have the dinner for the celebrant here. Greeted with a rude woman who just told us to sit on a crowded table for 5. We were trying to squeeze in but the staff didn’t even help us to re-arrange the seat and table to accommodate us. We had to wait ages for... More

I'm a big dimsum fan and Joy King Lau is a 4-story high dimsum foodie's heaven. Everything we've eaten here has been great, but what this place has that no other dimsum place does (that I've been to) is the soft spongey butter mai lai cake. Highly, highly recommend.

We went here for dim dum lunch and then later for dinner the same day! Dim sum lunch was really good! No dim sum expert, in fact my first time, but I like to think I know good food and I was impressed. The service was friendly and efficient. Best dish would be a toss up between turnip cake or... Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
