I have been to Avenue many times over the years. This weekend I went to the bar with 2 friends for some cocktails. My friend was given a glass with a chip in it, which cut her lip. We told the waiter who initially seemed...unbothered, he then returned to offer us a 'round of drinks on the house' (we never asked for this, it was offered to us) When the bill arrived, all of the drinks were on the bill. We asked a different waiter for the round of drinks we'd been promised to be removed, and he knew nothing about it. Our previous waiter then came over, he was off-shift by that point and was very argumentative and rude, and acted like we were scamming him. He pointed at my friend saying "I've served HER three drinks, so that's why three of her drinks are on the bill" - to which I pointed out that he had offered us a free round, so only two of each of our drinks should be on the bill. He eventually removed one drink from the bill and discounted the service charge by 30%. He then separately said to one of my friends "I'm a fair guy, what more do you expect?' - we didn't expect anything, he offered us a free round of drinks and all we did was enquire about it. It was so rude, unpleasant and unnecessary. We were made to feel like we were scamming the restaurant, when we had absolutely no intention of doing so. Ruined a nice afternoon - and none of that would have happened if they hadn't given out a broken glass.More

We had a great dinner on a Friday at Avenue Restaurant. Good selection of dishes on the menu and the food is nicely presented and also delicious. The service was friendly and relaxed as always, the cocktails strong and tasty. It was a great finish...to a busy week at work. We’ll be back soon again.More

We did this on a Virgin Experience Days experience after being given it as a gift. The staff were delightful - often on "voucher" meals the staff are a little.... offish, but here they were an absolute delight and seemed genuinely pleased to serve us....The food was wonderful and the wine delicious and generous. What's not to like ?!More

I went there yesterday for my birthday and I had the most amazing time!! I’m a serial bruncher and this was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! The service was amazing (the staff are so friendly but also really knowledgeable), the food was...delicious (the roast especially was superb) and the restaurant/ambience was 10/10. There was also live music which was great. Special shout out to Carolina! She is one of the nicest waitresses I’ve ever met! She made my birthday really special! They then topped it off with a cute dessert/candles! I’ll be going back very soon.More

I visited Avenue on a Friday evening; the mellow ambiance allowing easy conversation and a very enjoyable dinner. The decour is slick and sophisticated which, in many ways, mirrors the menu. The food was both seasonal and delicious (and also served by attentive and knowledgeable...staff). A restaurant which is very easy to recomend. Highlights include, the parsnip soup and the Heavenly Eggy Bread. And the Espresso Martinis rounded off the evening perfectly.More

Where do I start this is a well overdue review! I came here for my birthday brunch on October 23rd with my friends and sisters, and in all my years of brunching this was the one of the best brunch I’ve had. I’ve sometimes been...disappointed with the level of service when going to restaurants in Mayfair but the Avenue was superb! The staff was so attentive Carlos was fantastic at ensuring the bottomless was topped up. I’m a big fan of house music and garage and the live DJ did not disappoint. I also want to say Isabella and Carolina was so lovely members of staff. We was a big group but the restaurant really had us feeling welcomed and comfortable. From the moment we walked in it was nice to see someone have a smile on their face and greet us. I highly recommend, personally the steak was sensational and I’ll be back here again soon! Thank you so much for making birthday feel extra special I don’t think I’ll ever forget it.More

At first I was surprised the restaurant was almost empty on Saturday evening but after what I have experienced Im not surprised anymore. Honestly one of the worst restaurants I have been to when it comes to service. I still can't get over the fact...that I have been told off by the manager for my complain. Firstly there was a problem with our drinks as I have ordered a bottle of wine and only had one glass and then been told the wine has finished and they don't have this wine anymore. It could have been easily resolved if the waiter apologise for a mistake and carry on but instead the waiter blamed me for not telling him the wine was just for me (which I did say). After that I have ordered another bottle of wine, my friends order drinks and after half an hour we still didn't have our drink so I requested to speak with the manager and thats where it all went wrong. I have never ever been treated so badly. When I came to speak to general manager before I could say anything I have been screamed at. The manager told me what a disappointment me and my friends were because we all came so late which isn't true because only one of my friend arrive late but we said we can order food for her before she arrives so that shouldn't be a problem. I just wanted to say its a bit disappointing what happened with my drink but that we still waiting for our next order. I couldn't even say anything because the manager wouldn't let me talk at all. Regardless if the customer is right or wrong you shouldn't never speak like that to anyone. I felt very disrespected. I have never seen such a bad customer skills. Its such a shame because the food was very good.More
