I was staying across the road at the Hoxton so popped in here for breakfast on a Sun morning. The food on the counter looked yummy and I chose the poached eggs on sourdough toast with avocado, rocket and chillies plus a latte. Came to just under £12. There seemed to be a lot of staff for such a small... More

Spotted this cool coffee shop as I was heading over to Spitalfields Market & couldn't resist popping in for coffee on my way back to the station. Being a Saturday lunchtime it was busy but not so much that you couldn't find a seat. I'm a big fan of the trend towards larger communal seating tables especially when I'm on... More

Great coffee. Tick. Trendy / Hip. Tick. Avocado toasts with bacon. To die for. Wanted to just sit there out of the rain and scoop up the avocado with my fingers.

Dropped in here on Sunday when staying opposite, having noticed it previously but been put off rather by some previous TA reviews. We went there primarily for coffee as we were due to have lunch at noon, but I was tempted by the sour dough bacon sandwich - wowee! This was amazing as was the flat white coffee so I... More

It's one of those places with a quasi industrial, unfinished kind of decor, of which there are now hundreds, so nothing special there. So what would make it stand out would be a great product. None of that though. But it's okay if you need a coffee and are in the area. Don't expect a comfy seat. My review is... More

Acquire a huge property in a brilliant location on Great Eastern St, kit it out pretty well and then serve some up abysmal coffee. Very strange.

The decor is great, and given the other reviews I've heard on this place, I was actually quite excited to visit as I was staying opposite in the Hoxton. I got in there about 8am, ordered a breakfast bap only to be told it would be a 30 minute wait......really? I ordered a black americano, but was actually disappointed yet... More

Coffee was good cakes and trays even better. With board games to entertain. Relaxed vibe but service very slow.

Coffee very average. Served in a take out cup despite fact that we were eating, which was annoying. Cakes however are delicious. Decor and layout also great. Fine for somewhere to stop by if looking for a quick drink / snack, but isn't going to become a Shoreditch destination unless they put more effort into making a great coffee.

This was right across the street from the Hoxton and since my Wife and Our friends love coffee we stopped in. Great service, friendly staff, nice environment.

Staying in Shoreditch

Neighbourhood Profile
Shoreditch
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighbourhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbour can result in fascinating outcomes.
