As a French/Moroccan girl, in London, sometimes I miss eating my childhood couscous and tajines and everything that reminds me of my origins.
My boyfriend took me to Azou for the first time two nights ago on a date, and we had the best time. Chris is the best, although he is the chef he also took time to greet us warmly, kindky took pictures of us and his presence, conversation and advice was simply refreshing and on point. We enjoyed meeting him immensely.
The food ? Stunning. We both took an entrée as well as a couscous and well, we had leftovers. This is copious. Truly. But you can't go there and not take at least the first and the main !!! We also got a mint tea teapot and an espresso and the total amount was impressively affordable.
We'll be back FOR SURE and if you want an amazing North African experience (like no other in London, trust !!!) - Chez Azou is the place to eat.

Our favourite restaurant. We recommend it to all our friends. Constantine Tagine is better than all other tagines we have tried everywhere. So when we want Morrocan food, we only think of Azou.
Also you should try the Chackshooka starter. Absolutely delicious you wont be disappointed.
The Humus and Babaganoush also excellent
Azou is a small family restaurant where the chef Chris meets with diners and cares deeply about food quality and his diners. Great food you will want to return again and again.

We have recently moved into the area and I noticed this restaurant on the walk home from the tube station. It had so many trip advisor and michelin guide stickers on the front, I figured it was worth a visit.
How this place has been off my radar before, I do not know. We used to live in Camden, but I would have travelled from there to dine at Azou if i knew how great it was. I almost didn't want to post this review so i could keep this fantastic little secret to myself. So why am I gushing? Just go for yourself. The menu is just the right size, and everything we ordered was superb: baba ganoush, bastilla (OMG yum), and a chef recommended tagine. Oh, and a divine bottle of Moroccan red wine. It wasn't too busy which added to the relaxed atmosphere, and pricing was reasonable. We were seated in a cozy, low table in the back corner. The staff were great too, proud of their amazing food and excited to share it with you.
Whenever we have friends staying with us from now on, I will be taking them to Azou. Honestly, I would have moved to this area sooner if i had known about this restaurant - what a gem. Thank you Azou staff and chefs, I can't wait to go back!

Me and my fiance drove 2 hrs from kent for our date night and it was the best experience! The decor and atmosphere was amazing, the service honestly was the best we ever encountered! The owner and the staff were very welcoming, very friendly to talk to and very helpful and charismatic, the food was to die for! You could taste that everything was freshly made, the food came out very quick, we had starters, mains, desserts and 2rounds of drinks in less than an hour! I've never been to any restaurant that served food that quick. The food was very well presented and tasted as good as it looked and my god was it absolutely delicious. We had the Tangine marrakech & Mechoui for mains and it was the best I've ever had. You can tell that every dish that comes out was heartfelt in this small family run business and everyone behind this restaurant are putting their hearts into everything they are doing. The food price is surprisingly very reasonable. I thought because of the location they might be expensive but that is not the case. I highly recommend, and will definitely will be going back. P.s the owner bought us a drink just because we travelled 2hours just to come eat at his restaurant and travelling another 2 hours back. That was really kind and appreciative of him. **The best restaurant we've ever been to** This wasn't just good food. It was an experience.

A very warm welcome to Azou - the food definitely met our standards. As a North African, you could tell the food was authentic and made from love!
The service paralleled the great quality of food - would definitely recommend going if you wanted to get a taste of what North African food is like. Thank you for the hospitality (and the really really good couscous)!
Also worth noting it is very good value for money, they provide healthy portion sizes.

Went to Azou on Saturday and without any question this is easily the best Moroccan restaurant i've ever been to. The prawn and Lamb with apricot, prunes and almond tagines were eyes closed mouth watering dishes, packed with so much flavour they brought joy to my heart. The service was also great with a lovely vibe. It was also great to meet the legendary chef Chris who came out to check if we enjoyed our meal at the end of service and I even offered to wash the dishes. Lol. Needless to say I'll be back very soon.

There’s a lot to be said about North African cuisine. It’s spicy, full of flavour and wholesome. What you wouldn’t expect from most restaurants though, is both the quality of food and level of service you get at Azou. It really is a world beater in terms of both and a hidden gem in Chiswick. Highly recommended!
PS! Bourek starter and Constantine Tajine main is a wonderful combo!

I have visited Azou around 10 times over the last 5 years. It is a consistently delicious meal with incredible flavour combinations and fresh ingredients. The ultimate dish is the Tajine el ain, with lamb that falls straight off the bone. Everything on the menu is delicious and you could happily go multiple times with a different order. The ambience is delightful, making it feel as if you are in North Africa. Can not recommend this highly enough whether to go as a date night or to take the family

The food was superb, service was amazing and ambiance was second to nun. At the end of our meal we met the owner Chris Azou who was polite, engaging and told us all about Moroccan cuisine. All in all a lovely evening with food aplenty and we are already looking out visit again in the very near future.

Hands down the best restaurant in Hammermsith.
My girlfriend Lorato and I booked a table for 8:30pm. We arrived a little early and were seated immediately by the very professional waitress at a lovely corner table with nice low seats.
We had the Calamari to start, King Prawn Tagine and Couscous Royale mains and some drinks.
The food was absolutely fantastic, the lamb shank was perfectly cooked it just fell off the bone, the sauces were full of flavour and everything looked and tasted amazing.
After we had finished eating (it was also her birthday meal by the way) I proposed and she said yes!!! The Chef/Owner was very kind and extremely welcoming. He even took some pictures for us to remember the occasion (and I managed to keep my eyes open in one or two).
Thank you so much Azou for a wonderful meal and some fantastic memories.
We will be back again for our anniversary.

The chef / owner is truly passionate about making lip smacking delicious food with fresh ingredients. The flavours are distinct and comforting. North African Cuisine at its very best in London. Definitely worth visiting again. You will not be disappointed.

Azou is a small, independent restaurant in Hammersmith's King St specialising in north African cuisine. We were made very welcome by the proprietor Chris on arrival and our orders were taken promptly. We had four different starters between 5 of us (two had the same) and I tried each of them. There wasn't one that I wouldn't order myself next time. All were delicious. I make special mention of "Brik" which I ordered and would say this was big enough for two to share.
The table was cleared and we were asked if we were ready for the mains. Again they came out promptly and all were greatly enjoyed.
We go for family meals fairly frequently and this was the one I have enjoyed most by far.

I accidently discovered this little gem while on a stroll in Chiswick in 2006 and the food, amazing staff and the wonderful cheeky chap that runs the place,Chris, have always made it a worthwhile evening. As a Native North African, it was always hard to find restaurant food that comes close to home cooked cuisine from back home; Azou with it's cozy ambiance serves up dishes with the love of a homecooked meal coupled with the refined delicate flavours of a Michelin star restaurant. I have always enjoyed every meal at Azou, I even took my Mrs on a date there and she liked it so much she took her mom (a North African lady who refuses to eat anything from outside) and she loved it so much we ended up having our wedding dinner here. The food was great (as always) but beyond feeding the hungry guests, we want to thank Chris and his team for helping create one of our most cherished memories. We will be back as always.

An incredibly cosy atmosphere in the dining room allows you to feel comfortable right away with the décor and lighting setting the scene.
I had the Constantine Tagine of Lamb Shank which was melt in the mouth paired with a lovely red wine and some bread to soak up all of the amazing sauce at the bottom of the tagine. The service was excellent and it is great value for money! My friends and I left stuffed and ready to walk it off!
