Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a nice dinner at Kiku. The service is very watchful (maybe a bit too much), we didn't expect so many waitresses would be around. There is a large choice on the menu, however we found the meals were overpriced. Our teriyaki chicken and...salmon were good but the portions were not very generous and no rice on the side. A beansprout starter salad is offered, as well as an end-of-meal tea. Nice and comfortable setting.More

Came here for lunch and what a great surprise. They have quite an extensive menu such as lunch set or bento boxes. I had a tempura udon and it was just perfect! Between us we ordered Sashimi and different types of sushi. Absolutely fresh and...delicious. Absolutely happy to recommend this restaurantMore

People who draw comparisons with Zuma, Roka and Nobu simply have no idea what an authentic Japanese restaurant is like. Minimalist and calm with emphasis on food and ingredients Kiku is the best Japanese restaurant in London at probably the last remaining authentic Japanese restaurant...in London. The clue is the Japanese embassy is round the corner!More

I had heard of Kiku in Kinosaki, Japan. There is a very nice ryokan called Mikuniya that is the source of Kiku. A true family business. And as the food in Mikuniya never fails to amaze me my expectations were high. The restaurant is a...prime example of Japanese simplicity. The attention given is Japanese as well. More formal than jovial. I took the Edo tasting menu. Subtle all over, focussing on the character of the ingredients rather than adding to that. I realised that this needed a mindset of its own. It might disappoint people that the beautiful broth that is offered at the beginning is not deeply flavoured but develops as you appreciate it. Like good wine. And so it goes on, to my great delight. This was a meal that makes one a very happy customer. Recommended for those who want to appreciate the preciseness of the traditional Japanese cuisine.More

A fantastic location and selection of sushi on offer in this 'traditional' and original Japanese restaurant. We tried the tasting menu which had some amazing flavours and sushi we'd never tried before. Booking was taken at short notice and we requested a private area for...the family which the restaurant provided with no fuss. A bit pricey but well worth the occasion and experience.More

This place is black and white. Good service and food when they are quiet. Awful service when they are busy - they make you feel like you are lucky to get a seat and be served and the sooner you leave the better! Choose your...time VERY carefully. We have been going here for years but are now reconsidering! To be frank awful experience for the price!More

They're a real humble Japanese restaurant serving traditional foods, not as pricey. The dessert is exactly a taste of home. There is no hurry, no one will remind you that the table is only good for a two-hour dining experience. Forget ROKA, Nobu... Definitely we'll...be back soon.More

Followed some good reviews and booked for convenience as staying nearby. Not the best meal we have had. Very similar dishes served, despite being the KIKU tasting menu. Lots of prawns, lots of broth and soups. Very basic decor with very Mayfair prices.

Very good sushi. We were very impressed by the quality of the fish as well as the service. However, we were very disappointed when then staff asked us to leave at 10:15pm on a Saturday evening… And made us pay even if our glasses of...wine were still full. Sad to leave this restaurant in that way.More

The restaurant is an incredible hidden gem in London. The best tradition sushi and sashimi I have had in a long time. The quality of the rice was impeccable and the fish was very tasty! If you get the chance to try this restaurant, I...would recommend also taking a Shabu Shabu. The service was great and smiley! I felt like I was eating in Japan for an hour.. I look forward to returning back very soon. But make sure to reserve as it can get quite busy with the japanese community (small tip: that’s when you know the food is good)More

One of my favorites in London for traditional and quality Japanese food. You have a choice between sitting at a table or at the sushi counter. However, do not expect loud music, inside-out dragon rolls and other Peruvian Japanese fusion. Here, it is all about...the quality of the food and the ingredients, in quiet and relatively minimalist decor. If you want real Japanese food, that is a place to go.More

Deeply disappointing experience at Kiku after Zuma Nobu and every other quality restaurant in the world. Service Non existing. Way overpriced for bland food and tiny portions. No atmosphere. No music. Won’t be back. Back to Zuma and Nobu where quality is guaranteed
