About
The Melody restaurant takes its name from one of Britains’ most beloved films. It was directed by Warris Hussein who was the original director of Dr. Who. “Melody” has an international cult following since its release in 1971. It was produced by David Puttman, director of Chariots of Fire and Midnight Express, and was accompanied by an iconic soundtrack created by the Bee Gees and Crosby Stills and Nash. The Melody restraint was originally the site of St Paul’s school, which was the chosen location for “Melody”, a story of youth and first love. Our kitchen team creates an expert fusion of modern European cuisine with hints of their combined cultural heritage. We use the finest seasonal ingredients from sustainable sources to showcase the daily menus, from fresh, aromatic Mediterranean dishes to homely, rustic Alpine feasts. We also serve Traditional Afternoon Teas daily with a lavish Sunday Roast Carvery served every Sunday.

My family and I chose this restaurant to host a family members 40th birthday, we opted for the Sunday lunch as there were young children in the party . We had such a lovely time. All the correct hygiene steps were in place; hand sanitizers, social distancing etc, which made us all feel really safe especially as it was the first time out since the easing of lockdown for some of the party.
We had a private room which was beautifully arranged with the most gorgeous arrangement of flowers noticeable as soon as you walked into the room.
The staff while attentive kept their distance but that didn't affect the service which was very good.
Everyone enjoyed their meal, i especially enjoyed the roasted cauliflower starter with a hint of curry. The majority of the party had the traditional roast, i opted for the nut roast which if i'm honest wasn't the best i have had but the accompany veg, roast potatoes and gravy were very tasty. There is also a very nice selection of cocktails too which we all enjoyed.
If you are looking to go somewhere special for lunch or dinner i can highly recommend The Melody Restaurant. I will definitely be visiting again very soon.

Friends bought a voucher for afternoon tea. Booking was easy over the telephone. We arrived to see a beautiful building hidden from the road. We received a warm welcome on arrival and we’re shown to our table. A beautifully decorated, clean room set out with lovely furnishings and crisp table cloths. The staff were attentive and knowledgable but we were never rushed and spent over 3hrs chatting at our table! We were offered to choose drinks from a very varied drinks menu and we had several drinks each all included with the afternoon tea price. The food came and the waiter ensured we understood what it all was (we were asked at booking about allergies etc). Food looked and tasted delicious. There was a variety of both savoury and sweet treats and none of us could finish it all despite our best efforts to. Fabulous all round, will look forward to returning. Lovely venue, lovely food, lovely staff. Thanks to you all for a wonderful afternoon. Really, really good value for money. We all felt totally spoilt and dress code was relaxed which made me uber comfortable.

It is a small restaurant inside the St Paul's Hote, a small and decent place to eat. Restaurant Staff overall is friendly and nice,
I wanted something to eat after checkin, the restaurant staff is very nice helped me to secure a table. Ordered the standard tea set, it looks good and taste good an good average London standard.
We also tried their English breakfast in the morning, it is a nice and claim place to have breakfast. (English breakfast Not included in the Room Rate and have to pay extra, the standard hotel breakfast is those buffet continental breakfast)

This restautant is in St Paul's Hotel, Hammersmith, within easy walking distance of the tube station. It is set in a beautiful Victorian building which was a school till mid 80's. Decor of the restaurant is excellent, thus ambiance very good. Sadly when we were there only one more table was occupied. Thus atmosphere was lacking. Although soft background music and white linen on tables somewhat enhaced it.
Service was excellent. Sadly food was mediocre. My mains of monkfish was over cooked making it leathery and dry. There was no sauce with it (eg parsley and lemon sauce). When I asked for some sauce to make fish edible I was served beef gravy! Dessert of Dark chocolate Marquise was even worse. Base was rock hard and topping of cream was missing.

Best afternoon tea I've ever had. The food was delicious, the staff were attentive and the restaurant was beautiful and tastefully decorated. Our tea was refilled as many times as we wanted and I had a good selection of vegetarian sandwiches. Scones were delicious and an interesting and tasty selection of cakes.

We had a guest from the US for a dinner with the Board of a large organisation and we were eager to impress our guest. Carl, Lumi and the Melody team took excellent care of our booking and event. The communication in the run-up to the event was clear and timely. They were very responsive to our enquiries on the dishes and were happy to accommodate our requests (e.g. petit fours instead of individual desserts).
The evening itself could not have gone better.
Our group of 8 were in the beautifully appointed private dining room that looks out on the charming garden. The room was inviting, with a lit fireplace, high ceiling and coat racks.
The kitchen staff took care of the food orders admirably. Everything was beautifully presented and cooked perfectly. Our food orders covered pretty much every starter and main course on the menu and nothing fell short of expectations. Portions were very generous indeed. Service was extremely professional and attentive without being obtrusive (huge thank you to the two gentlemen who looked after us). They even brought out a surprise birthday dessert for one of us who was celebrating a birthday.
Everyone ended the evening in high spirits.
We would highly recommend the Melody for its food and service for any occasion. The private dining room offers the additional benefit of privacy for those who wish to have confidential conversations in a quiet setting.
This is a hidden gem.

Dining with a friend Melody was a relaxed, safe and enjoyable experience. Staff were friendly, service was quick and Covid secure measures were in place at all times.
All dishes were well presented, flavoursome, with the Pig Cheek and the Whisky Salmon standing out as entrees. Mains were a little less inspired, the Chicken breast was well cooked but not overtly special - still good but not to the level of the starters. The lamb three ways was very good, but a bit on the small size and dominated by the vegetables.

We had to write this review today to highlight just how much of a lovely afternoon tea we had this afternoon! The service was brilliant with very attentative staff. We booked with a groupon voucher and we were treated exactly the same as any other guest. The glass of champagne was poured right to the brim and the 3 different teas we tried were delicious! It was a refreshing change not to just have finger sandwiches, so whoever designed these bread and fillings is just brilliant! The scones were lovely and fresh (the fruit one had a lovely cinnamon flavour!). The cakes were dainty patisseries and had so much flavour, our favourite was the chocolate layered one! We would definitely be back for afternoon tea or maybe a trip to the whisky bar! Highly recommend the afternoon tea and this hotel for its great friendly staff and delicious, great value food. It is definitely a little gem!

I would give this 5/5 for the service and experience apart from a couple of the sandwiches. Fillings were lovely but felt brioche was too much and very filling. Cinnamon scones probably one of the best I’ve eaten!! Staff were lovely.

The service was exceptional at our recent visit for afternoon tea. Staff were lovely and very attentive.
The atmosphere was relaxing and the facilities were spacious and impeccable.
There was an excellent variety of cakes and sandwiches with the afternoon tea which were delicious and very fresh.
A wide variety of teas to choose from, we went for lattes which didn’t disappoint.
The scones were delightful, very soft and freshly made, served warm.
We had a lovely time, would definitely recommend and cannot wait to return!

I'd bought my wife a voucher for her birthday - afternoon tea with champagne - and we had agonised over choosing a venue. We chose the Melody Restaurant because there were fewer bad reviews than for anywhere else! And I'm pleased to say we were not disappointed! Lovely selection of sandwiches, scones and fancies...and not too much chocolate! Add to that an excellent selection of teas and a large glass of champagne (not prosecco) and you've got an excellent tea!

In my opinion the best afternoon tea in London, a few minutes walk from Hammersmith tube station.
The restaurant is inside St Paul’s Hotel and is a beautiful old building that has been sensitively restored so worth a visit just to be in these wonderful surroundings.
Now as for the afternoon tea it was beautifully served, fresh finger sandwiches, savoury scones, a tray of smoked salmon on the side. The best scones I have eaten and both fruit and plain with tasty jam and cream. The miniature cakes were delicious as well, mini cheesecakes, passion fruit, pistachio and chocolate cakes all so yummy. We took advantage of the offer that included the glass of champagne and was amazed at the size of the flute and the willingness to give a very generous pour.
The waitress was lovely and the staff very welcoming.
I will definitely return.

Six of us including two kids went to The Melody restaurant for afternoon tea and it was a wonderful experience. The food was really varied and tasty and they took in to account our dietary requirements. The food was plentiful, in fact we took home a few boxes of leftovers as we couldn’t finish it all. Hot drinks were free flowing and plenty of teas (and coffees) to choose from. The restaurant and settings are beautiful and just a short walk from the tube station. We were looked after by Jackie who couldn’t have done more to make sure we were happy, she was so helpful and attentive. A special thank you to her and those who helped answer our questions prior to booking. I’d highly recommend this experience.

Very late review but worth doing to praise this lovely welcoming hotel and their excellent free flowing champagne afternoon tea which I treated my daughter and I to. Traditional old building with lovely features, we were given a warm welcome by staff and shown to our table in the restaurant. Champagne was indeed free flowing with frequent and generous top ups! We enjoyed all the food especially the sandwiches and scones and service was excellent from the very friendly and professional staff. The outside Christmas lights were magical too!

The staff were very friendly and polite throughout the experience.
The setting for afternoon tea is very tasteful & fresh and the room had character.
The selection of sandwiches were delicious and there was a good selection of vegetarian choices.
The scones and Jam were also very tasty, followed by a selection of cakes, all very delicious.
The menu provided a huge selection of tea! Rooibos Orange tea is highly recommended.
