My boyfriend and I have been here every time we visit London as we love it! The service is always excellent and the food cannot be faulted. We both had the ribeye steak which was outstanding, very pricey but definitely worth it. However, one downside of our visit here last weekend was that we were asked if it was a special occasion as it was my boyfriends birthday and our waiter brought us a tiny birthday cake for pudding which we assumed was complimentary but when we got the bill we realised we have been charged £4 for it when we didn't even ask for it which we thought was extremely cheeky. Nevertheless, it is always a great experience at the Sea Containers and we will definitely come back.

Went for brunch with friends on a Saturday, the restaurant was busy and had a nice atmosphere with great views. We went for the bottomless brunch, they were very attentive with topping the glasses up and the prosseco itself seemed of good quality. The food was impressive in presentation & taste and satisfactory portion sizes. You are made to feel that they want your table back asap, which I do understand due to it being a Saturday & them being so busy, but my friends and I all had full glasses still and the lady that took our bill (manager on duty possibly) actually tapped her watch at us looking frustrated telling us she needed the table back... we then looked at the bar and there were seats there so we moved there which we were happy to and took our drinks, coats etc, it would have made much more sense for this to have been suggested by the manager in the first place and for her to have offered to take our drinks to the bar, instead of tapping her watch at us yet offering no alternative as to where to finish these full drinks and making us take them ourselves. I would definitely return for the food, atmosphere and great location but be aware when your 1.5 hour is finished they want you off that table, no questions asked which makes it feel rushed and not especially relaxing.

This restaurant just keeps going from strength to strength. In spite of all the recent setbacks, our dinner experience was truly fantastic. Good to see all of the safety measures being implemented, including temperature checks on arrival, which made us feel safe and cared for. Great start and a very friendly welcome too. We booked with the Time Out deal which is amazingly good value considering what you get, 3 sharing plates of starters, 3 mains, choice of 2 desserts and a cocktail from the signature list. The key here is quality, and none of the dishes disappointed, all beautifully cooked, seasoned and presented, clearly using the very best ingredients. The salmon tartare (starter) was a particular favourite, absolutely delicious, to the point we were tempted to order another! We did order an extra side of Sea Bass Ceviche Tacos (starter) as a treat and it was divine. The mains were superb, skirt steak cooked to medium-rare perfection, cod loin with braised lettuce and ham full of flavour and again cooked perfectly, trofie pasta with pesto and fennel was also delicious. We finished off with Eton Mess and Vegan Lemon Cheesecake, both very good, the cheesecake was my favourite! Great cocktails and friendly, unobtrusive service made for a memorable evening. Cannot recommend highly enough!

I had emailed twice to say we were celebrating my daughter's exam results and to ask whether we could have a table with a view. No mention was made of this at all and, although we were early on a Friday evening so were able to choose a good table anyway, the service was very slow and seemed more interested in getting people drinks rather than food. At one point my daughter counted the number of tables (17) and only 2 had food. The kitchen staff seemed very relaxed and not busy despite people waiting for a long time for their food. Given that the food and drink is on the pricey side, and they put a 12.5% service charge on top, we were sadly left disappointed on what should have been a very special occasion.

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant, my first visit was excellent, great food (a little over priced) and lovely ambience even during social distancing. One minor issue was that we were overcharged and had a weird argument about having to apply for a refund by email. After my first experience, I was keen to share this when family visited and was disappointed by very slow service, staff who were clearly more interested in the higher spending table next to us and fairly average food. It was embarrassing to have given my recommendation to this. I will probably return to give them the benefit of the doubt, but this level of restaurant should really have consistency and a higher standard of service. I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to others again until they get their act together.

We had to ask for cutlery to be put on the table, despite being shown to a table that quite obviously had none. We had been at out table for about an hour before the starters turned up... 20 minutes apart. Sparking water seemed to be in short supply, as we had to ask for it 3 times before it arrived. The mains arrived to together, but by now we'd been at the table for about 2 hours, and were past caring. The food was actually pretty good, but there service was so bad it was like tipping salt all over it. The only reason this review is not 1 star is because our waiter did acknowledge that we have had terrible service and made some amends with a couple of free drinks. This was meant to be a special night out, and in the end we spent over 3 hours in this restaurant, of which about 30 mins was eating food.

Poor service fair food. Ok to be clear I eat dinner at the bar, snacks on the 12th floor and breakfast at the buffet. None were very impressive. All expensive. And all the worst service I have had in awhile. The bar actually mad me feel as if I was intruding on their social hour to order a drink and later a meal. I was so long waiting that I litterally began to gather my belongings to leave. The drink was small and the flat bread with mushrooms was about what I would make myself in a Thursday quick evening at home - unimpressed. The upstairs was ok but felt odd. The breakfast buffet was ok but at $23 save your money and get a croissant near by. The bacon stuck together and dry. Rest very simple. The hotel is nice but the restaurants laking badly

We have visited Sea Containers for a Saturday brunch on a number of occasions and have generally found the food and service to be good. We visited on Saturday for a bottomless brunch and found the service to be very wanting. Our food took around 40-50 minutes to arrive and we had to request constantly for bottomless drink refills. Around the end of the bottomless drinks time the server rather rudely came and gave one of us a top up (after a 20 minute wait) and announced 'this is your last one'. We brought up with him about the delayed service at the time but this was ignored. He also came back to our table around 15 minutes later to tell us that the table would be needed back within 10 minutes despite the fact that there were around 5 or 6 empty tables of a similar size around ours. We will probably return to Sea Containers for the good food and views but due to the service on this occasion, it would not be the top of our list to visit or recommend in London.

The staff in the restaurant are young and lively and match the upmarket decor. The food is good quality but overpriced. My partner ordered the Mussels main course and was disappointed at the very small size of meat in each shell. The norm is for bigger meat pieces. We complained to the waiter and he only offered to pass feedback to the chef. We expected a refund as there was little food to eat from the mussels and from the plate. No chef should accept these mussels on a menu, unless called miniature mussels or small mussels. These inadequate mussels must have been the cheapest at the market and they reflect badly on the chef and restaurant owner.

I visited this restaurant after rave reviews from colleagues about their food and setting so I had booked for a group of 4 on a Wednesday evening for dinner. Instead of mains, we ordered a range of small dishes, starters and sides and asked for all food to be brought out at the same time (or when ready). The food took 90 minutes to arrive and after asking for an update 4 times. They then forgot to bring out 3 dishes, and tried charging us for an additional 2 dishes we did not order or receive! We had also ordered 2 bottles of Prossecco, they would place this in a bucket away from the table however no service was around when we wanted our glasses refilled. We would have been happier with the bottle on the table so we could do it ourselves. Quality of food was ok, some dishes came out cold but overall flavours were good. This restaurant is more on the pricier side, but it really isn’t worth it from the lack of service you will receive. You are better off going to other high end restaurant with the same price point to receive the same quality food.

I recommend Sea Containers hotel from the spa to the restaurant to anyone I can. I live across the street at South Bank Tower and I'm very grateful that you share your wonderful services with us.It makes me sad that the restaurant wasn't busy today because of all of the work from home rules but it was still treated so well and taken care of. You hire wonderful people. Also your main restaurant menu is quite diverse which I appreciate as sometimes I just want a delicious soup - today had the gorgeous scallop almond soup - or the whole grilled bass. And I appreciate that you always have two cuts of steak for price and size. And the small Curzon Cinema where you sell the usual popcorn with coke or champagne but also can have the restaurant food delivered in the cinema :)) Spoiled is how I feel when I visit Sea Containers Hotel!

This place is super hyped, even our cabbie from the train station suggested it, and obviously it has a great location! The food was good but not worth the money and the service was terrible. We weren’t sure who our server was! After waiting a long time for anyone to approach us, after making a reservation and being seated by the hostess, we finally asked a guy who looked like a manager if we could order. He then asked us what we wanted but got two details wrong in our drink order (there was only two of us) and the food was delivered by 3 different people, no one checked on us and we waited a very long time to get the bill, having to literally chase down the aforementioned manager type as several waitstaff seemingly deliberately ignored us and then the bill was wrong! They obviously don’t care about getting repeat business and rely on tourists continuing to read the good reviews and listening to their cabbie:)

Whenever I visit a client in London we have lunch and this is one of the better venues. This time was different as it was empty given the current problems worldwide. This though did impact on the high quality of the meals or the excellent service, if anything the staff had time to laugh and chat which improved the experience.

I’ve always been a fan of Sea Containers for drinks and food. But tonight the food was average and the service lack lustre. You don’t expect to pay over £300 for a meal where you wait for half the party to get there starters (and after asking where they are, the staff never come back to you and say!) wine popped in a cooler to be poured by staff but never actually served, waitress was very unengaged, just crap attention to be honest! Location fab but this venue seems to think it can dine out on location alone. Hugely disappointed

Host staff is friendly and accommodating. There are even crayons and paper to keep the kids busy. Security at the door inside the restaurant which is inside the bad was unnecessary in my opinion. Had a great view at a table by the window, but the wait staff was nice, albeit a bit 'off'. I had to ask for silverware when my appetizer arrived. Shouldn't that be standard? Restaurant only offers large bottles of water - too much for a single traveler. Thus I had tap water. I ordered a premium glass of wine, but the device used to extract wine thru the cork without opening the bottle was broken. They wouldn't properly open the bottle for me - thus I settled for a glass 1/3 th price of the one I wanted. Unfortunate for us both because they lost the revenue, and I gained a headache in the morning. I wanted to charge the meal to my room, but there was no pen with the bill. I waited til the server returned to ask for a pen. Overall - decent experience, okay food, pricey, less than expected service.
