Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very quirky style pub. A lot of stuff making no sense. Probably what makes it funny and interested. It was our first tine here, just stopped for a quick drink. But called my attention that the menu is italian. The pizzas were looking very...nice. Definitely planning to come there to eat.More

We had lunch on Saturday. On arrival the pub was really busy which is a great sign. The pub also has some museum pieces, so is quite full but interesting. We ordered drinks which took a while to arrive, we then had to prompt the...staff to place an order, which was delivered in stages. HOWEVER none of this is a negative! The food was glorious, and because it came in stages we were able to order a second pizza and still have sides when it arrived! The bill was extremely reasonable for anywhere in the UK, let alone London. If you want slick service walk by, however if you want awesome food, lovely staff and a great atmosphere this is the place for youMore

We dropped in to this pub without a booking having visited the National Maritime Museum . The place was quite busy but no problem to seat us and in fact we were given a very warm welcome by the owners . We both had the...lasagne with a garlic bread starter . This was very good and generous . The lasagne seemed to be homemade and was delicious . Staff were all very lovely , friendly and attentive we willl go back .More

Great service. Excellent pizza and pasta. Very good value by Greenwhich standards. The bric-a-brac around the pub is worth a visit alone.

Great place to stay with incredibly friendly people running the accommodations and restaurant. Bianca, Giuseppi and Donna were a treat to meet! The bed was super comfy and the food/beer/atmosphere is not to be missed. We will come again!

Lovely welcoming pub, great atmosphere, friendly staff, lovely food, I had seafood pasta, pizza also look amazing. Only 1 thing the menu is very basic what they show you, you need to ask what pasta meals they do.

Booked a table back in June having checked this establishment had gluten free options. Arrived this evening to be told they had no gluten free food left! We are away on a break and do not know the area so used trip adviser to help...us. Angry and upset. Surely they could have done some gluten free pasta!! It’s not a life choice to be gluten intolerant and this has spoilt our evening.More

8/8 (Tuesday evening beers & a pizza) & 26/8/23 (Saturday meal & drinks) This review is for the 26/8. The 8/8 was also a good night but just drinks and one pizza with a couple of friends! I was meeting a friend who asked for...a recommendation to eat as he was paying. I suggested this place i know well as my friend also has Brazilian Heritage. I booked ahead for a Saturday at 18:45. I also let a couple of other friends know we would be there from 9pm although our booking slot was only two hours. I was sure we could find a space. We arrived on time to find a busy restaurant as expected. A new 'crew' were at the bar and serving. A tall man greeted us and asked if we had reserved, yes of course and there was my name on the list. He showed us to a reserved table for four, just as well as had booked to eat as well. I asked if Pietro of Paula were around and he said they were at the back busy. We took our seats and before we knew it Pietro was greeting me warmly and my friend as of we were both old friends. Once I declared my friend's heritage to Pietro they were chatting away in Italian!! The waiter was impressed and chipped in as he was Giuseppe from Sicily!! A great welcome and drinks were necessary! A pint of Pietro's finest Guinness. The friendly and efficient waiter showed us the menus (also online) and we chose two pizzas. I remember when there were some more unusual main dishes (including Pulpo) and asked if there was anything off menu. Giuseppe offered Sicilian Roast Beef but had to check with Pietro (who had disappeared to get another customer). Pietro and Giuseppe confirmed the roast beef was available and Pietro works prepare it himself !! I asked about the price and it was £18, no problem. The fungi pizza was £13. We cancelled the four meat pizza and ordered the roast beef instead despite my being a pescatarian (obviously a flexitarian!!). We agreed to share everything. The pizza came in good time and the roast beef very shortly afterwards surprisingly. We tucked into the pizza which was the usual long oval shape on a long rectangular wooden platter. It was as usual very tasty especially with the truffle. The very thin base and edges were hot and crispy. On finishing it we descended on the beef...wow! At one end of the long plate was strips of thin smoked beef under a bed of warm, coursely chopped and ripe tomato. In the middle were two slices of bread with olive paste on. At the other end were thin slices of more traditional 'roast beef' but very tender and covered in a warm ground beef in tomato sauce again. My Italian friend was most impressed! It was perfectly flavoured with fresh herbs. A pool of pesto was also at that end! We took our time eating this delicacy and more drink flowed. During our meal both Giuseppe and Pietro asked us of all was well. At the end we decided to choose a couple of desserts to share so asked Giuseppe for the options as we had returned the menus. He produced his phone upon which were images of the dishes available. We chose a Pistachio Soufflé and a Chocolate Brownie at £6 and not on the online menu it turned out later (unless it changes every few days or week depending on seasonality out availability). The round dishes came quickly and again both were very well presented and delicious! Just right!! More beer and gin flowed and by then Pietro had disappeared but Paula was in charge and greeted us. I asked if we could pop upstairs to see the jazz dining room at the back. Paula agreed and I showed my friend this amazing space. He runs a firm of Lawyers in central London and was impressed enough to think about having one of their regular fortnightly meals there although there would be space in the main room. I had my mum's large group of German relatives over and we had a big meal there a few years ago. We returned to the main room and drank some more. We even chatted to a neighbouring couple, one local who had brought their friend from Holland Park for the experience! A French couple replaced them and we chatted too. They had come in by chance looking for a lively place away from the usual tourist haunts. They loved it! This place is so convivial, thanks to our hosts' infectious hospitality! My friends arrived at 9:15 and were accommodated on out table of four no problem, despite the pub still being busy. We drank some more, obviously a couple of new rounds ensued) and by 11 the pub was thinning out but we were not pressured to leave. We eventually left at around 11:40 and there were still people enjoying themselves. My friend was very impressed with the whole evening (which continued at Ye Olde Rose And Crown by the Greenwich Theatre till 01:00! I attach some photos some of which are very poor of focus as the light levels are low (and a couple of drinks in!). They do not do the food Justice!More

Went by the reviews on trip advisor and made the right decision. Booked a 2pm lunch and had a very enjoyable experience. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Ambience was relaxed and decor quirky. Menu was slightly limited but just ask what extra pasta dishes they...can do. Food was of a high quality, plentiful and tasty. And to round off the experience was an excellent female jazz singer. Would definitely return when back in Greenwich.More

A charming pub in Greenwich with great food and friendly staff! You can tell this is a place the locals frequent and there is no doubt why! The waitress was very knowledgeable about the beer selection and helped us select ones to our liking. My...daughter and I each selected a different pizza and both were delicious! Definitely visit this place. You won't be disappointed!More

After reading the great reviews, unfortunately we were very disappointed with the food. Some of the food was salty, and food was missed off the order and a few dishes not available. One of our party had a pizza and said the pizza was very...tasty. You do receive a warm welcome, which is great.More
