It was a nice weekend brunch with plenty on offer. The ambience is very nice. There is room to improve on the cooking which is primarily a bit bland and suited more to continental palate rather then Indian palate. Deserts were good and there was a nice new flavour of ice cream - Gulab Jamun Kulfi.

We have been visiting this restaurant for close to 30 years and have never had a bad meal. The latest visit was on Valentine's night, when they had a special menu. There was a veg and non veg selection and the meal was excellent. Everything was beautifully prepared, as usual, with no compromise on quality, as is often the case... More

I really like this restaurant. Great atmosphere. Excellent food. Not the cheapest Indian option in London but definitely worth to try. I'll definitely come back when I'll have a chance.

Visited for brunch over the weekend. The ambience is really nice and the service extremely attentive. The food is served at a buffet, with a good choice of starters, mains, salads and desserts. Well done Indian classics, with plenty of options for vegetarians. Overall a very pleasant experience and good value for money with the brunch deal.

The Food is wonderful. Every food item beautifully presented and full of flavour and spice. Good range of choices. The waiters were happy to serve you with a smile, marking a true quality of service. Ambience is truly an experience..

Loved the new take on Indian cuisine. It is not your ordinary curry style restaurant. There are some delicious interpretations on Indian cuisine with very fresh ingredients. Portion sizes are good.

Very disappointing. Having read the reviews I must have gone to a different restaurant! The starters were good but the mains were awful - not even warm and the tandoori chicken tasted as if it had been precooked and even left over from lunch. It was very dry and tasteless. the other items were no better. The service was terrible... More

On our first night in London, we were staying at the Bailey's Hotel London and the concierge told us the best Indian restaurant was next door. It was indeed one of the better Indian Cuisine restaurants we have been to. The atmosphere is very elegant and grand. Beautiful decor and live piano music makes it classy and pleasant. Service was... My wife and I enjoyed our dinner here on Boxing Day. You enter into a relatively small bar area and think gee this is a small restaurant. The door then opens when you are shown your table and the place is really really big. In spite of it’s size the food was quite tasty and the service was fine. Funny... More

This place feels a world away from London, almost feels like the taj palace hotel in Mumbai. The food is good, but not amazing. However the ambience is unlike any other indian restaurant with live piano making for a special evening.

Opening in 1982, Bombay Brasserie was in the vanguard of modern Indian cuisine, with an inventive approach that married classic regional cooking with a European brasserie-style menu. The spacious interior, with its airy conservatory and bright murals, extends to a welcoming bar and a more traditional dining room well suited to the affluent Kensington clientele.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
