This place ticked the boxes on all counts. The high ceilings with chandeliers and big tables which are well spread out so that you are not annoyed by noisy neighbours. The service was excellent all through the evening and the food was sumptuous. Unlike many other premium Indian restaurants, the portion sizes are fairly good and you can have a... More

They know what they are doing here. The food is consistently top quality and delicious. The staff are very very good and well trained. The restaurant is vast and so very suitable for large groups which we have been on several occasions. The ambience is also very nice. One of my favourite Indian restaurants in London. Also very accommodating for... More

I took my mother there for Sunday Brunch. It cost £35 just for the food no drinks included. The service was very basic and the food was awful! We spent £105 on a terrible meal. The food was tasteless! My poor mother did not eat any of her food, I only had their street food starter.I cook and have eaten Indian food on... More

The regular haunt for the work Christmas meal. Although we have a buffet option for the main course the starters and desserts are provided at seat. Food is always excellent and a definite step or two above the average curry house!

I went here recently and here's what I think The food is very good but also very expensive. (There are other restaurants in London charging half the price with food that is just as good, albeit with worse decor). The restaurant is exquisitely decorated and the seats are very comfortable. It's a pleasure to sit there My issue was this:... More

Beautiful, elegant ambience. Have been to Taj Heritage in Mumbai, the setup is similar. Brilliant service and variety of Indian international cusine. Loved it. There are only few places in london who can make a good Long Island ice tea and this place is one of them. Will visit again.

Forget your local takeaway, this is Indian food of the highest order. Last came here 20 years ago and it has not changed, still fantastic. Went for my birthday with family including a chicken tikka masala devotee. Had a mix of set menu and a la carte, all good. Tried to get the black lentil recipe but they were not... More

The weekend buffet here has been a favourite of ours and one we have recommended to many but alas it is not the same. The buffet has shrunk in size and variety and what was once a great experience for £35 is now not great value for money. I would now be hesitant to recommend this buffet now as it... More

We have been going to the Bombay Bras. for many years now and have always had a good meal and a lovely time. Nothing had changed this evening either - we attended a large party taking over the whole area (having arrived through a joining door with the Baileys Hotel where we stayed - wonderful not having to wrap up... Difficult to find parking - after driving around the block twice, I squeezed into a small single yellow space. Food delicious! Very nice atmosphere, surprised this place doesn't hold a Star! Great service too !

Description
Opening in 1982, Bombay Brasserie was in the vanguard of modern Indian cuisine, with an inventive approach that married classic regional cooking with a European brasserie-style menu. The spacious interior, with its airy conservatory and bright murals, extends to a welcoming bar and a more traditional dining room well suited to the affluent Kensington clientele.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
