This place is an absolute gem. The food can sometimes be a bit slow on a Saturday night, but I always forgive restaurants for that because everybody wants to go to for dinner on the same night, at the same time; if you want fast food, then go on a Tuesday. The cooking is awesome, and the staff are lovely.

Return to Jashan after years!

I took my 4 visitors to the Jashan last night, a little anxious after reading some of the reviews. I had not been there for years. The decor was not as nice as it used to be, it used to have white tablecloths and no food pictures on the wall... just a little more elegant. However the waiter was extremely helpful and friendly and the food, chicken 65, chicken biryani and lamb rogan josh were all delicious as were the relish, the raita, the lassi and the nans. I was also asked if I wanted to take the left over food with me. Everything was very fresh. Sooo pleased, I shall be back and will recommend it.

I was plesently surprised with this place. Portion size was good and the food was tasty. It was also good quality too. The revamp has improved things. I spent all my life eating indian/pakistani food so I know a thing or too about pakistani food

Disheartening!

This used to be the best restaurant in the area - quality food, good service and the place, although a bit dated, still had character. Now, however, since the refurbishment, it is now like a fast food set up joint! The quality of the food is not a patch on what it was before, most of the dishes are on a glass see through display which is microwaved when served, and the menu is now limited with what seems to be a lot of dishes missing or no longer available from the original menu. In addition to this service it was very slow and confusing in delivery. Unfortunately I am not sure what has happened but what made this restaurant once special, is no longer there and I can not see this thriving in any way, shape or form as it once used to. There are plenty of fast food type set up’s in the same vicinity at a fraction of the price so am not sure what madness has consumed the owners to change since the refurb. What once was a shining star is now a dying dwarf which is soo disappointing and disheartening! People paid good money for good food before, but that no longer will be the case. I certainly will no longer be going back there as a result, which is a real shame as I had been ordering from there over the past 30 years!

We have been a loyal customer of Jashan's for many years and were greatly looking forward to it re-opening and we believe in supporting local businesses. Sadly it has changed hands (I cannot blame the owner for this) but sadly now many dishes are no longer on the menu, there is no alcohol and most of the food is pre-cooked and left out on the buffet at the front and warmed in the microwave. I gave it two chances, but both times afterwards I felt ill. I regret deeply having to write this review, as two of the lovely previous waiter staff have been kept on and they are great, but clearly the owners lacked the foresight to keep the menu the same or expand on it in a positive way. Now all the meat feels tired and old. I will not, regretfully, be going back here.

Really disappointing

This used to be our favourite Indian Restaurant where we have visited many times, but it is now a shadow of what it used to be. It has been refurbished but Service was slow and disorganised. There was no fish available to order. We were then given the wrong food. When we received our order there was so much oil in the dishes provided, we needed to ladle it out with a spoon. The Nan was hard and flat rather than soft and fluffy. Unfortunately, we will need to find somewhere new to go in future.

Heart attack or stroke on a plate … not good!

In my many years of ordering Indian / Bangladeshi food & having lived in India I can honesty say I have never seen so much ghee floating on top of my food ever! It is off-putting & not at all justified in terms of taste! I have just spent not far off £30 for a takeaway & cannot eat it as it is drowning in ghee 🤢🤢

Pre-cooked curries and starters so everything is heated up before serving rather than freshly cooked.

Went into this place and asked them about a meal deal they were advertising in their window. Looking at the curries, noticed how much oil they contained, something another reviewer had mentioned. Decided not to eat there although the owner has 2 other restaurants called Salim in the same street (Turnpike Lane, North London).

Excellent food and service!!

Customer service was great, very friendly and welcoming. Food was amazing!!!! Freshly cooked and good size portions (enough to take home for later!) Nice atmosphere and very clean. Toilets very clean. Really enjoyable evening with good home cooked food, and excellent customer service skills. Thank you will definitely be recommending to friends!!!

Jashan Restaurant - Turnpike Lane

We visited Jashan as they have only just recently reopened after refurbishment. It used to be good but the food gave us both diarrhoea. There was even a hair in the leftover food which we took home. Just for your information no more liquor licence. Not one that we will go again even though very welcomed by manager with great service

Just eaten here for the second time and yet again they blew it out of the water. Food amazing especially lamb and what lovely service. Cannot recommend highly enough. I will be back. Just hope there is not to many people next time!!

Thank god we did not visit there and will never. We ordered food a second time as we were impressed with the first time. we ordered items more than 55 pounds but one dish was missing. My husband called up the restaurant guy and he blamed Just Eat people for stealing food. And we had to order again with the delivery charge. The guy in the restaurant does not clearly state that the delivery charge will be there if u order the can, and we will deliver your dish then on that he said he will send 2 butter naans and I thought it was like goodwill as one item was not sent. But Why Should We Pay Again For The Delivery Charge If It Was The Restaurants Mistake? I confronted the same guy who came the second time to deliver the dish and I asked him why the restaurant did not send our one item the just-eat guy said that they are very busy and they forgot. I got really mad and I told the just eat guy but the restaurant guy blames just eat for stealing the food. then also I checked reviews online that if anybody said anything in the reviews. The restaurant guy says oh it has happened with many of our customers. There were no reviews on it. Also, the item was not piping hot. So I am pretty sure it was forgotten there in the restaurant. Instead of admitting it, he went on arguing about it and blaming the Just-eat people. Today we had a bad experience with them. These restaurants have become so greedy for money everywhere and they don't think about their quality and standards of service. The restaurant should make it sure that the order is fully delivered. So please check your order before the Delivery person leaves and if anything missing can call the restaurant in front of the delivery person.
