About
La Trompette opened in 2001 and serves some of the best food in London but without the formality or prices associated with the capital’s top end establishments. We closed at the beginning of 2013 for a complete refurbishment, and have expanded to include a brand new kitchen, private dining and improved customer facilities. The new appearance has not changed the focus of the restaurant. The aim is as it always has been, to give all our guests the best possible dining experience from start to finish.

It started badly: the infamous table opposite the toilet. Things not only got better from there on in, they got best. I was moved and given a complimentary drink to assuage my hurt feelings. I had poached skate for a starter. It was absolutely delicious....More

La Trompette is, in our view, one of the finest restaurants in London. The menu is rich in choice but not too lengthy and the combination of flavours is superb. Service is efficient and friendly and , for us, it is a "go to place"...More

We booked a semi-private table for eight members of our boys' book-club for our annual Christmas lunch. We started with Cuttlefish, an unusual and delicious dish, followed by pheasant, skate wing, cod and one or two other mains, with good Christmas pud for dessert. Excellent...More

Frankly fish cutlery has become less and less fashionable even in top restaurants....also a good dishwasher does the job. Quality of products, cooking and service is more important.
