Fab place. Good menu, extensive wine list, good service. Popular, you need to book. Courses are well presented, not fancy but straight forward and well cooked. Ideal for business and social.

I went to Langan's with eight friends for dinner on a Friday night to celebrate a birthday. I used to lunch here regularly about 20 years ago and had fond memories of the place - but was very disappointed by the experience. We weren't greeted properly -the door staff were almost rude and couldn't be bothered to help when members... More

Very busy lunchtime (from 1 p.m. onwards reservations are a must). Staff is attentive and the team is superbly organized. Food, once ordered, arrived reasonably quickly, all correct, the fish portions were large, the vegetable side dishes very nice if a tad unimaginative. Menu choices are broadly traditional, and wine list is well chosen and fairly priced. For a lively... More

SERIOUSLY DREADFUL........particularly the so called "vegetarian dishes" Ordered the Pasta Arrabiata ....it was Full of too much oil! very dense and not spicy enough. Changed dishes and ordered the butternut squash risotto....it was like being served a bowl of SLOP! I wouldn't eat at this place again if I was paid to and for our troubles we were charged £70... I used to love this place and everything about it....ambience...,staff..... food etc...etc. I went with my family to celebrate my 65th and we were really looking forward to the occassion. We were there early afternoon so it was not that busy but the service was to say the least lacking.....this came from the top down and I have no idea... More

We've been visiting Langan's since the '80s. Normally, we have been delighted with the service and the food. This time, the service had the pedal to the metal trying to hurry, hurry, hurry us. We were there early mid-afternoon. The place was busy and noisy. Not a problem. The problem was the pace the serving staff tried to achieve. We... More

I eat out in London allot, with business colleagues, family and friends. I've been to Langan's many times and it's simple why, great consistent food with great staff and atmosphere. This really is an iconic Restaurant and one of those great places that you can disappear back in history, so many great dishes but the liver & bacon never disappoints.... More

We visited to celebrate a friends 60th. The atmosphere was very buzzy and lively and our waiter was lovely. The food was good and reasonably priced. But we had an issue with a chip in the rim in my friends wine glass which she quietly raised with who we believe was the maitre de, his handling was really not good.... More

Dined yesterday with a family group of six. As always, the place had a comfortable, laid back feel and the older members of the staff were friendly and highly competent. One or two of the newer people were a little less efficient. Food was decent without being outstanding. Prices were what one would expect in the west end and the... More

Description
The legendary Langan's Brasserie restaurant boasts a great location in London's Green Park, just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square. Stroll up Stratton Street to find Langan's Brasserie waiting with its warm greeting and super service. The Anglo-French cuisine and relaxed interior, complete with distinctive artworks and mismatched lampshades, have remained popular with London diners for more than thirty years. The brasserie menu is hand-written each week and features traditional dishes like Langan's bangers and mash with white onion sauce; pan-fried halibut with broad beans, shrimp and capers; and treacle tart with custard or vanilla ice cream. Langan's restaurant's diverse wine list features familiar favourites from all over the world, as well as some popular French classics, and there is also a fine wine list on request for the more discerning connoisseur. Among long-running London restaurants, Langan's is one of the stars.

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
