We'd heard about this iconic cafe and we're keen to try. We went along full of excitement. The cakes in the window did look delicious. We were greeted by a lady who I assume was the owner. She pointed to a dingy room upstairs. We left, a shame as the cakes looked delicious.

This is one of the last places in Soho that hasn't been gentrified or turned into a chain yet. No matter if you look for desserts or a place for a sightseeing break this is the perfect spot in Soho if you love cakes etc.

Quirky place for coffee and croissants or excellent choux buns. Lovely staff and quite busy. Bring an appetite.

Stopped for a quick breakfast. Really enjoyed the quiche and ham & cheese croissant. Sat at a sidewalk table and watched folks walk by, ended with a yummy eclair.

Greeted by lovely staff at the door who told us to take our time choosing which cakes we'd like from the amazing selection on display. Asked host where is the best room to sit and all of the waiters chipped in with their faves- upstairs and the room next door were suggested and so we went next door. We were... More

Cakes looked lovely, however the decor of the place is shabby and unkempt to the point of even looking grubby. We wanted to eat up and leave the place as soon as possible for this reason. Then we were stung by an enormous bill at the end of our visit. Unbelievable, as the two cakes we ordered were not even... More

I've only had pastries this good in certain bakeries in France and Austria and even then I'm not sure if they were better. The sweet cheese and apricot pastry was divine. The coffee is fine too and the staff are interesting and chatty. The building itself with please anyone with half an interest in architecture or vintage design!

Cakes are so tasty, coffee is great and fresh mint tea will keep you warm. Staff is very helpful and friendly. This is a gem, don't miss it!

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
