The restaurant is a hidden gem. I had 'dumplings with chestnut and wild mushroom' and 'salt beef' - both dishes were just exquisite especially the former. It was the most romantic experience - we sat on terrace facing a large private square. I would love...More

If you want to taste a genuine Polish cuisine search no more. This place serves the most delicious food (trust me, I am Polish)! It is like home away from home, with beautiful interiors and friendly staff. Make sure you taste some of the vodka...More

South Kensington is well served by good Polish restaurants: the old-school Daquise and this smarter dining room Ognisko with outdoor terrace in a mansion on Exhibition Road. The food seemed authentic and of high standard on my recent visit. The wine list is short but...More

Lovely place looking over the quad of a college very near Royal Albert Hall. Food is upscale with a Polish fusion and everything was delicious. Service was great and eating on the outside terrace this time of year is wonderful.

I come here again and again, especially in summer before Proms concerts. At this time they offer a special lighter pre-concert menu which is excellent value. There is always a warm welcome, and the surroundings, either inside or on the terrace, are quietly elegant, and...More

I have dined here on a couple of occasions. Particularly nice terrace for when the weather cooperates. Try everything, share. It's difficult to make a choice!

For lunch today, I followed other's advice and went to Ognisko. Not being very hungry, I ordered just two things: Gravadlax Placki (Potato pancakes with marinated smoked salmon) with a fabulous mustard dill sauce and Surowka: a sauerkaraut and shredded carrot salad. Before the dishes...More

Came to this restaurant for an early super before going to the Proms. It’s a beautiful venue with very high ceilings and fantastic plasterwork. The service was excellent and friendly. The set “pre-prom” menu was interesting and inviting! I had poached salt beef for main...More

When millions of tourists want to shop 'til they drop,
they do it along Brompton Road and its boutique-lined
tributaries, including the world-renowned Harrods. And
when millionaires want to flaunt what they've already
got, many of them find Knightsbridge and Belgravia the
perfect place to do so, often behind stately mansion
walls or down quiet private mews. Delve beyond the
ultra-luxe exterior and you'll find some of this

Hi. I've had a meal in both areas; both were lovely but for a summers evening, I'd go for the outside terrace.

Ognisko Restaurant is on the ground floor of the beautiful and elegant Victorian on Exhibition Road, South Kensington. Our restaurant and bar are both open to the public for lunch, dinner or drinks seven days a week. With a large terrace overlooking communal gardens, we're ideal for alfresco dining during the sunnier periods. Ognisko is positioned on the road of many world-class museums, including the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum. Also the area is home to the English National Ballet, the Royal Albert Hall and the Serpentine gallery, making South Kensington one of the most important cultural destinations in London.
