We had 20 people to eat here on quite short notice to celebrate a double birthday and the owner is the loveliest man who made the whole thing so fun and brought us surprise cake and prosecco and shots can't say thank you enough

A lovely restaurant, close to Goldhawk Road tube. Very handy if you're seeing a show at 02 on Shepherd's Bush. Food is absolutely lovely. I had the polish stew for starter (pretty big portion) followed by the stuffed cabbage. Service is great. Very personal touch by the proprietor. Takes time for little chats. Polish lager is worth a try. Only... More

London has a large Polish community. It began growing seriously after World War Two, and then accelerated after the fall of Communism in Poland in 1989. Today, Polish is the second most spoken language in the UK! Ewa and Caz Michalik managed to leave Communist Poland in 1970, and came to the UK. In 1986, whilst the Cold War was... More

The food and atmosphere were fantastic, very authentic polish feel, but the service was rather cold and detached. We had to get our server's attention several times, she was very purpose driven, which felt rather unfriendly. Also a little warning, the water and bread they offer before you order are NOT free as they are in most restaurants, they do... More

This is a charming place, food is good, but you do have to like cabbage and beetroot as they are staples of Polish cuisine. However, that said the stews are good, the stuffed cabbage tasty and the dumplings with assorted fillings rather nice. The service is excellent and it is handy for Shepherds Bush tube and just down from the... More

We visited The Patio last week while visiting friends and were delighted to be introduced to this gem! The restaurant is beautiful, warm and welcoming; truly a labor of love. We enjoyed much from the inexpensively-priced menu; there was not a dish we wouldn't order again. Special treats were the wild mushroom soup and the pierogis. The food was delicious... More

Headed in here before a concert at the Empire. It was initially quiet, but quickly filled up. We got a big table between the two of us and were glad of it because it was needed to contain the food mountains. The fixed price menu was great value and provided plenty of interesting options - we weren't familiar with Polish... More

Delicious Polish food in a family setting at very reasonable prices in a very humble setting. My wife is Polish and the potato pancake was as good as her Mom's, high praise indeed. You feel you are visiting a Polish family and they are giving you their best food including pierogis, hunter stew and galabki. Service was so caring as... More

Description
Patio Restaurant was opened in June 1986. Presently, it is one of the most successful Polish restaurants in London, receiving rapturous reviews from well known food critics of The Independent, The Guardian, Telegraph and Evening Standard. The Patio Restaurant, run by Kazimierz and Ewa, has been serving home-made Polish food for more than 22 years. During that period, this family business has developed true excellency in preparing the most distinctive and traditional dishes of Polish cuisine. Patio received numerous reviews from various critics representing some of the biggest advisory newspapers in the UK. All of them agreed that this unpretentious place, stylised like a retro middle-class drawing room, is a must for any Eastern European food amateur. Apart from impressive meals and superb vodka selection, Patio will offer you calm and friendly service as well as live piano perfomances on occasions. Thanks to it's great location in Shepperd's Bush, this Polish restaurant is often visited by Westfield Shopping Centre customers. Patio is situated nearby famous London venues, such as Lyric Theatre or Shepperd's Bush Empire which makes it a perfect place to dine before or after different cultural events. If you are lucky, you may even meet celebrities and performers who often choose to visit Patio. What better recommendation can you get? Our function room is available for free of charge. This lively place has two dining rooms offering seats for about 100 people in total. The function room, located at the lower ground, is often booked for birthdays, weddings and other family gatherings free of charge which makes it really attractive.
