We have been here many times but this was the first time we had arrived on the dot at 12:00 for dim sum. The restaurant was very cold so some of us wore our coats all the way through the meal. At the beginning I asked the reception man to turn up the heating and he agreed to do this,... More

This has long been a favourite of mine and this visit didn't disappoint. We went for a birthday treat and ordered a mixture of dim sum and other dishes. They were out of this world. The service was super efficient and the waiting staff could not have been more helpful. I can't wait for my next visit.

Came here as an alternative to Royal China for dim sum having eaten dinner here numerous times. The ambience is undoubtedly better and much quieter with more comfortable and spacious seating. Dim sum is on par with RC and similar prices. Some specialties on offer which usually means it looks visually very pretty and decorative for a lot more money.... More

We went to this restaurant quite few times. It is a very nice Chinese restaurant which looks very luxury. They have redesigned it recently and improved it. The food is very good and above average. Prices I found slightly increased but still under acceptable level. It is the place to make a good impression for sure. Strongly suggested.

Phoenix Palace is everything a top quality Chinese restaurant should be. Delightful food, extensive menu, knowledgeable and efficient staff, a professional kitchen - the right ambiance - and it is patronized by London-based Chinese. Last week, I took friends to lunch at this classic favorite of mine. He used to live in New York City not far from Chinatown and... More

This restaurant has to be the best Chinese food around, authentic tasty and well cooked on every occasion that we have visited. This time was no exception aromatic Duck excellent and moist which is sadly not the case in many restaurants now . Rotisserie main course simply divine and Spinach with Garlic sauce simply sublime. The service was friendly and... More

After spending thousands of £ in this place and also hiring out their private room at the back for my 21st birthday years ago, I think it's safe to say that I'm rather well qualified to rate this place. Returned there for the first time in years and I will NEVER be returning again. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. I have been... More

My boyfriend and I visited the Phoenix palace after a show in london about a week ago. We were shown to our table and ordered food and drinks. We ordered the mixed starter for 2 at £8.50 each. We asked for a special chow mein and the waiter basically laughed in our faces and said they didn't do that, so... More

It has everything it needs to be an iconic Chinese restaurant, it's got the ornate interior and the goldfish tank (not for eating), but while staff are very pleasant, the cooking is complacent - some dishes are really good (crispy duck & hot & sour soup up to scratch, my wife loved the black cod), others are drowned in cornstarch... Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
