Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place was the highlight of our London trip. Absolutely incredible afternoon tea, with fresh baked warm scones, delicious sandwiches, excellent tea, and a massive slice of freshly made cake all for under £12! The cutest café only a ten minute walk from the port....When we got off our boat tour in Greenwich it felt a bit like a cruise stop, covered in tourists and overpriced places. I found this spot on Google to get out of the madness and am so glad we walked the ten minutes to enjoy it. I can’t recommend it enough!!!More

The breakfast at Royal Teas was absolutely delicious. Everyone had something different and all arrived at the same time. The breakfast was beautifully presented and everybody thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The prices are extremely reasonable and the customer service was second to none. We enjoyed...the surroundings and the aesthetic of the building immensely. We will definitely return soon!More

Really feel for an independent cafe they ought to brush up on their customer service. We ordered I went to the ladies when I came out of the ladies I was barked at my a woman with tattoos to sit down it would be brought...to us. Crikey! I offered to pay for us and she said “pay later”. So much choice in Greenwich and I think they behave in his manner as they think it’s tourist trade but we live locally! Avoid 😒More

We had the cream tea late on a Saturday afternoon. Gorgeous freshly made sandwich, warm scone with jam and clotted cream and delicious cakes! We chose coffee and walnut and lemon drizzle. Lovely atmosphere in small venue. Ray, the host, was very welcoming and we...enjoyed chatting with him. Highly recommend a visit when in Greenwich.More

Lovely, small little cafe on a quiet road outside the main part of Greenwich. The breakfast is definitely worth trying.

Seats roughly 15 people on a good day with tables outside. Delightful antidote to the big chains. Excellent choice of teas, served properly in a pot. Wonderful cake, carrot cake must surely count as one of your five-day veggies. Breakfast probably the best things.

Everything I've ordered from this cafe has been delicious - lovely home-cooked comforting food at great prices. My favourite is the American breakfast with poached eggs and the oat cappuccino, highly recommend both. Likewise the afternoon tea is amazing - fresh sandwiches, homemade cake, scone...and tea or coffee all for £7.50!More

This place is a find. A serious find. I didnt know there were any more of these in London, to be honest. We were trailing through the rain away from stupid crowds in Greenwich Centre on the way to the station when this place hove...into view and to be honest it wasn't that prepossessing at all. It look just this side of dingy, certainly dark and rather badly maintained. But needs must...so we shouldered the door open and there was nirvana within. A massive rack of full bean coffees on the left for your delectation, simple chairs and plain tables, some exposed brickwork (Georgian) and another small room to the back with three tables in it and a superb menu of unbelievable foods, cakes and coffees...and it was actually reasonably priced. In London. The lunch is about £6, and cakes are about £2.50. The serving staff are very young of highly alternative with strategically shaven hair...and I don't remember a time I have more enjoyed having tea and reading with a cake on the way...I haven't been so moved by a cafe in I don't know how long. And it's authentic - its not hipster tongue in cheek - its just quietly cool, genuinely authentic, real. I dithered about telling you about it, in fact, as I don't want there to be no seats there when I go next time, but its all true and the truth will out. Probably the best independent cafe in London.More

Lovely food, lovely staff. Highly recommend falafel houllomi wrap & Belgian waffles. Half term and it was nice to get away from the crowds on the high street.

We live in the area and are constantly returning for the cakes! Lots of flavours and all are great - favourites are coconut and the lemon drizzle. Prices are very reasonable too. Highly recommended

I don't go south of the river very often, but whenever I go to Greenwich, I visit Royal Teas. Independent, away from tourists, very calm, lovely staff and great food. Recommended.

Popped in with friends for lunch, had a craving for Eggs Royale - these guys didn't disappoint, was affordable and a small and quiet place, away from the main bulk of Greenwich tourism. I would say that we could have been served just a little...quicker, but that's about it.More

We went here expecting a lovely experience thanks a number of highly rated reviews and we ended up wanting to leave without paying. I’ve never written a bad review before but I guess there’s a first for everything! We both ordered the cream tea. The...sandwiches were okay although we were surprised that the bread was shop bought despite the fact a local baker is nearby. At this point I was thinking well what’s the point in getting a sandwich from a cafe it’s it’s shop bought? Anyway, I thought at least the scones will make up for it. In the end I had to go up and ask for the scones as 20 minutes had passed. And guess what, the defrosted scones were also shop bought, we didn’t enjoy them especially after hearing the ping of a microwave. The cake was also defrosted, I have never not eaten a cake before. It’s just really weird this place has such high reviews. I mean the coffee was okay?More
