Ambiance dreadful, service average, food luke warm big plates & tiny portions, only warm white wine on offer, all food served on cold plates, very expensive. We went because we were given a Virgin Experience Voucher! The deal promised a champagne cocktail - we got a warm bucks fizz low on fizz high on UHT orange juice. First courses 4 soggy fried... Sadly my experience of Silk was not the best. The lady who took the booking on the phone was extremely abrupt - didn't set the tone very well. A very nice lady served us, however the delivery of food was extremely slow. Sadly portion sizes were relatively small and sadly quality didn't make up for it. Left feeling on the... More

Beautiful setting. Food very good. Staff very friendly. Would highly recommend for a special occasion. My only fault would be that the tables are very close together.

We were given a Virgin voucher for Christmas and initially struggled to get a date on a Saturday but had no trouble booking for a Friday night. The setting of the restaurant is lovely, a fun setting in a court room. The waitresses were friendly and attentive and explained the menu and how it worked with paying for side dishes.... More

Dear RachyA1989, What a great xmas gift you were given. Saturdays are very popular and normally book out weeks in advance, glad you were able to join us on a Friday instead and especially that you found the food to be very tasty with a good selection of choice. All the best. More

I was given a Virgin gift voucher for my birthday some months ago, every time I tried to use it I was told the date that I wanted was unavailable, in desperation I complained and said that I would go to the press, with that I was given the restaurant's email and low and behold I got a booking on the... Our 17 year old son bought us a Virgin voucher for this restaurant with his own money earned working part time. We went to a show and then were looking forward to dining at Silk. Never have we both been more disappointed, both for our wasted time and more importantly the waste of our son's hard earned money. Upon arrival... More

Very poor quality. Food was cold and extremely bland. The restaurant was lacking atmosphere. A real disappointment.

We were shown to our table and immediately asked: Have you got a voucher? We said no. Two minutes later we were asked again: Do you have a voucher, and once again we said no. What is wrong with: "Welcome to our restaurant, we hope you enjoy your evening with us". It took ages for someone to come and take... More

A friend gave us a voucher for Three Course Meal & Champagne Cocktail. We were surprised at how lovely and intimate the restaurant was. The food and service were great and overall we really enjoyed our visit. The only negatives were that we didn't actually get a champagne cocktail, just a glass of something bubbly, and our table was right... More

Lit by a stunning vaulted glass ceiling and framed in English Oak panelling, the vibrant eatery features the original judge's bench, dock and witness stand from its days as the Great Marlborough Street Magistrates Court, which witnessed the trials of Oscar Wilde, Mick Jagger and John Lennon. Now a destination for more culinary pursuits, the restaurants' past has been superbly incorporated to create a charming, romantic dining venue. Sampling flavours from the ancient oriental trade pathways, diners take a culinary journey down the historic "Silk Route" with seasonally inspired menus of locally and internationally sourced ingredients, expertly prepared by Head Chef Rajesh Parmar and his talented team. Harking back to the days when spices were traded as precious commodities across the sub-continent and beyond, dishes are infused with the treasured tastes of the east, focusing on Chinese, Indian and Thai accents paired to create arresting flavour compositions.

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
