Came here on a Sunday for early dinner at 5:30pm. It was one of the few restaurants on Brick Lane that wasn't hassling passers by, so we presumed that the food was good enough not to need advertisement. There is a good selection of curries to choose from and drinks menu. The food was excellent and the naan bread was... More

Has chicken tikka and onion bhaji to start, in my opinion it was well cooked without being full of flavour. Nice crispy poppadoms and a good array of dips. As for the main curry, I had the "South Indian chicken curry (hot)" which wasn't that hot but offered food flavour. The girlfriend had chicken bhuna which I must say was... More

Like every other Indian restaurant on Brick Lane there is a man outside trying to accost as many passers by as possible and offering deals to try and get them into the restaurant. The unique selling point here was to tell us they had a nice toilet! No word of a lie there. I can only speak for the ladies... More

They'll basically agree to any set price to get you in here. We agreed the set price with the gentleman outside then confirmed it with the manager inside. When it came to ordering we discovered that the price had doubled. I ordered a meal but left feeling hungry and cheated. It's the second time this has happened to us in... More

Went to this place as our usual one was closed. Was ok for what it was. I had lamb Madras, which tasted as though the meat had previously been cooked, and then related with the sauce. I had rice with it, and a keema nan. This was a bit oily? and tasted a bit funny (the meat that is) Luckily,... More

Booked as a group, excellent communication confirming booking. Food was amazingly good, with excellent service . I got the sizzling dish everybody wants at an Indian. Beer sensibly priced . Will be booking again. Oh yes this was 4th visit and still as good as first.

Went for a straight forward Indian, no fancy stuff, food was cheap, menu had enough to choose from but not to much. We went there early at about 6pm so the restaurant was empty so that meant the food got served quickly and hot. Service was good, though the waiter we had was a bit miserable but did'nt really matter.... More

Staying in Spitalfields

Neighbourhood Profile
Spitalfields
For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the next big global trend, the hipster zone of Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Wedged between the business-minded City of London, expressly trendy Shoreditch, and zestful Whitechapel, the lines between traditional and contemporary beautifully blur in this historic East End nexus.
