Really disappointed with our visit. One particular staff member was totally uninterested in serving - so much so it was like being served by a robot. No atmosphere, no personality, no human touch to the place. Ordered a Hendricks that was given with no garnish...More

We were meeting up with a friend and chose Pennethorne's because of its location within Somerset House where we visited some of the exhibitions beforehand and watched the families running in and out of the fountains in the large courtyard. We hadn't booked and were...More

It's amazing how many "meetings" take place in coffee bars around the world. Personally I always look to support the independents whichbis one of then reasons I had a meeting here. The service was good, the decor stylish and the atmosphere conducive to having a...More

I visited on a Friday lunch time with a friend, having previously come here for cocktails one evening before eating at Spring. If I am honest, I was more excited about retuning for 'The Architect' cocktail than trying the food. Nonetheless, the Beetroot Niçoise salad...More

I don’t know what had had more thought put into it, the decor or the guests. Both incredibly stylish if a little contrived. Certainly not a place to go if you haven’t got lemon tipped hair or a remarkable moustache. It serves drinks with a...More

Pennethorne's Bar is a quiet oasis in Somerset House. The rooms still had original features. We ordered a snack lunch which was quite delicious but my friend thought it pricey. Herbal tea was good (no tea bags). Service wasn't memorable. It's been a month since...More
