One of our now regular visits with a group of very ancient sports hacks drinking vast quantities of alcohol, talking very loudly and disagreeing over most things. Amidst all of this, calm service, excellent food and a hefty bill, hardly surprising considering how much booze was consumed, conspired to make you wonder whether you would do it again! Probably.

Lovely pub, restaurant, after a long day of walking. It was hidden in a quiet neighborhood where many of the embassies are located. Food was very good, but service was a bit slow.

The forced smile of welcome showed the wait staff were expecting an early finish for lunchtime. A notice on the main door asks patrons to use the door opening onto the bar BUT the door to the restaurant was used with monotonous regularity by the staff thereby causing many cold drafts throughout the restaurant and a waft of the cigar... A wonderful place for a quick meal, or a long meal. The staff are warm and welcoming, and mine host, Philip Lawless - who has owned this place for over 30 years, never lets you down. They also serve a very reasonably priced bottle of champagne. I suggest you wash them down with a good few oysters!Great place.

Love going to Motcombs, food always good, great service. Tables outside great for people watching, nice white table linen. Well placed location.

Very mediocre! and that's a compliment! Business lunch with bland food and staff who couldn't care less. If I am paying for "service" I want "service" and for the extortionate prices this is not provided. It's obvious that if you are not one of the locals who seem to relish in being over charged for poor service and food -... More

A shame. Used to be good but this time was very average. Very average food, very average staff, no atmosphere on a Thursday night. Poor. There are better options! Please go back to the Motcombs that was good!

Medium-sized basement restaurant in expensive but dull Belgravia. We had half-price lobster Thermidor, which was actually very good, although I thought had a little too much mustard. The service, decor and atmosphere are all perfectly acceptable, just unexceptional and unexciting. However, it's not cheap, and the main reason I'm writing this review is to highlight the fact that in addition... More

Went here for lunch with some colleagues I had met up with. We were seated and the lady took our drinks order. We received our drinks and said we needed just another minute to order food - after about 30 minutes later of trying to catch the attention of the waitresses and the manager/ owner (unsure what he was), they... "Traditional British watering-hole and restaurant located 20 metres from Sloane Street, opposite Christian Louboutin. Both the restaurant and bar underwent a complete refurb in September 2000 proving this venue to be the utmost in style, yet maintaining a warm ambience. Lots of regular businessmen and locals and a freindly atmosphere. However the jolly feel should not detract from the restaurant which serves up seriously good food. Impressive selection of fish and game and excellent wine list. They recently won the Moet & Chandon/Harpers and Queen 'Best owner managed Restaurant in London'.

Staying in Belgravia

Neighbourhood Profile
Home to the vast majority of embassies and diplomatic residences in London, sophisticated and upscale Belgravia also boasts a wealth of luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and some of the city’s most stroll worthy lanes. While the prices here are high, taking a leisurely stroll through the streets of picturesque and elegant white stucco houses is free. Hyde Park and the Buckingham Palace Gardens are only a stone's throw away to the north, and some of Europe’s best shopping is nearby as well.
