Popped in while waiting for my reservation down the street. On a quiet street in Kensington. Nice atmosphere, good drinks and a great place to people watch.

Have a drink at the bar or sit at a table for dinner. Either way, you will not be disappointed by the quality for food and great service. This is just a fun, little place. A go-to whenever in town. Checkout their facebook page for specials

While wandering around the side steets of Kensington High St we came upon the Abingdon. We sat at the bar and ordered wine and lager. This is more of a bar and restaurant rather than a pub. Bar staff were very attentive and as the evening got really busy they coped fantastically and still had time for a smile. Ordered... More

For our last night in London my husband and I went with a local friend to The Abingdon in the Kensington area of town, just a couple of blocks below Kensington High Street. We thought the establishment was a pub but once inside we saw it was also was an inviting and warm restaurant space. We had sea bass, pork... More

Always a great place to have a nice meal and end the long week. It feels like my neighborhood restaurant across the pond.

Our party thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Abingdon. I arranged for our table via e-mail prior to leaving for London and even though the restaurant would be hopping on Saturday night, Ben (who we met during our visit) worked with me to fit us in. (Our agreement included our "possibly" having to move to the cozy bar after two hours... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
