We came here last week on the basis that a) we always get good meals here and b) they accept my Gourmet Society card which gives me 50% off all the food. The restaurant probably doesn’t want me to publicise this but let me tell you it’s a great feeling looking through the menu and halving every price. £23 for sirloin steak? That’s £11.50 for me! But, notwithstanding this, the food is consistently good. We had starters, duck leg, sirloin steak and desserts. The food bill came to £80. I paid £40. Drinks are charged at normal price. What’s not to like about that?

The setting is great, in a lively part of Covent Garden and interior is stylish. Service is efficient and waiters are very pleasant but the only disappointment was the pricing and the truffle dessert. The menu is varied and the food was served swiftly and the waiting staff was really friendly. They took great care of the youngest member of our group - nothing was too much trouble, which added to the enjoyment of the lunch experience. The only down-side was £19 for a chicken salad (with not much chicken) and the size of the rum truffle dessert. The orange and chocolate tart was a different story, however - really rich in flavours.

I am surprised at the level of poor and terrible reviews. We had a lovely meal and night. We were made very welcome, it was my daughters 18th and although we skipped dessert they bought a chocolate brownie with candle and a birthday card.My wife said her salmon dish was the best salmon she had ever had. The duck was lovely and everything was a lot better than the norm. Confirmed by a shocking trip to Cafe Rouge the next morning.

We ate here as it was in close proximity to the Aldwych Theatre where we were headed for an evening show. We were a group of 6 (3 couples) and had pre booked a table. We were seated quickly and our order taken. The service here was excellent. The food here was of a good quality and extremely reasonably priced given it’s Covent Garden location. We would definitely eat here again.

Went here on Bank Holiday Monday, big mistake. We both had Fish and Chips @ £18.75 expecting it to be wonderful at that price. What we had was a battered fish that tasted as it it had been heated up from frozen. With service charge over £20 per person, this is a rip off at that price and quality.

On arrival the waiters seemed ambivalent about finding us our table inside (we had a reservation) but we didn’t worry too much about that. We then sat with our menus for 20 minutes and failed to get anyone’s attention to even take a drinks order, let alone food. We had booked through open table so maybe they thought we were only going to buy from the ‘cheap’ menu and weren’t worth bothering with. Silly mistake as we would have ordered from the main a la carte menu if they had only bothered to speak to us. In the end we walked out and they didn’t notice that either. Ended up in a lovely place just a road or so over and had a fab night. So all ended well but would recommend you avoid this restaurant in case you aren’t as lucky as we were!

We used to love this restaurant, its suitable for a long stay date night, quick bite to eat and family meal, all in one lovely central London location and at premium, but fair prices. This was our first time back at Tuttons for a while, for our anniversary, it had certainly been since before Covid hit and, unfortunately, Covid really has had an impact here. Service was slow/non existent until we made a point of speaking to one of the managers about how we had been asked about drinks when we were seated, we asked for a cocktail each and a jug of tap water for the table. The cocktails arrived, but not the water, the passionfruit martini was extremely strong, so much so, we had to ask them to put some more mixer in to water it down! After an hour, with no further contact from any of the staff, 2 empty glasses, no food and still no water, I spoke to the lady who sat us at our table to explained how poor we had already found the service. To her credit, she did give us a drink each on the house, which was a nice touch and took our starters order. We did have to ask for someone to come over and take our mains order, which was annoying, but not the end of the world and the food was delicious, both the starter and the main. But the next disappointment came when using the bathroom, in the men's, there was no tissue to dry your hands on and the air dryer wasn't working, so my trousers ended up drying my hands (This may be Covid related but isn't my experience anywhere other than here since re-opening). Finally, when we were ready to pay the bill, we had a Taste card for 50% off of the al a carte menu and were paying a large amount with a voucher we had been given, neither of these had any caveat of not being used in conjunction or which order they should be used in. This then lead to a lengthy conversation, back and forth to and from the POS terminal, which subsequently broke down! Eventually, we agreed that the Taste card discount should come before the value of the gift card was taken off, not after, as they had been trying to charge to begin with and we paid our dues and a tip for the staff that were well overworked due to lack of staff availability. If they can pick the service up here and make a few minor tweaks, they could easily return to a 4/5 star restaurant in my opinion.

Had lunch here outdoors. The location is terrific, especially now as Covent Garden remains quiet during the week. Sadly, the food is mediocre at best, and service was abysmally slow at a time when the restaurant was not busy. Had the chicken salad, which consisted of a few strips of tasteless chicken on a bed of limp lettuce. My friends'' plates looked equally unappetizing. I'm keen to support restaurants recovering from a challenging period of lockdown, but Tuttons is a disappointment.

We were pleased to be able to walk in at 12:40 on a busy Saturday - without any mention of a time limit After our main courses were cleared at 13:40 we asked for a cheese board, but were told the table was needed back and we couldn't have anything else. They refused to believe us when we said we had been given no time limit and that in any case an hour was obviously insufficient (it took over half an hour to get our food.) The manageress directed the check in person to come over and tell us she had explained a 14:00 cut off, which the poor very busy check in clearly hadn't a clue if she had said or not - in fact she definitely had not. But at no stage were we given any kind of apology or acknowledgement that an error might have been made or that a bit of flexibility might be in order - they could easily have sorted the cheese and we could have been done by 14:00. So we were effectively kicked out after just over an hour. We wouldn't have gone in in the first place had we known. We may all be keen to eat out again, but after the first surge in demand, customers will remember this kind of poor treatment and return to restaurants where they get much better service than this.

It's been a long time (for obvious reasons !) since we've visited one of our favourite spots, namely Covent Garden. Naturally it poured with rain, but Tuttons on the corner looked inviting and lunch beckoned. We were quickly escorted to our table for two. Comfy curved leather bench seat around a circular table just the right size for the two of us. The restaurant felt safe and covid secure, complying with track & trace regulations, sanitiser, good spacing and screens where necessary. Our order was taken promptly and courteously. I had the lamb rump which was served with salsa verde crushed potatoes, peas & samphire, a baked shallot and a drizzle of red wine jus. The assortment of flavours on the plate was out of this world and all complemented each other. The lamb was perfectly cooked, charred on the outside but melt in the mouth tender and pink on the inside. (I would add that the helpful waiter had asked when taking the order if I preferred pink or well done.) Hubby preferred to have 2 starters instead of a main course but served at the same time as my lamb. He had the cider and onion soup topped with cheese on toast and home made chicken liver pate with toasted sour dough. He was equally as impressed with the quality and flavours of his choices as I was with mine. So we sent our compliments to the chef. We finished the meal by sharing a cheese board. Also delicious. The wines on offer were a good selection and we enjoyed a fine NZ sauvignon and I partook of the Merlot which was also good. The waiter and waitress who looked after us were friendly and efficient. For us provincials, we normally baulk at some London prices that we have seen but we felt that Tuttons' prices were fair and reasonable for the quality of the food and wine. Can't wait for another visit down to The Smoke and guess where we'll head for some skerrick (Norfolk for food !) ?

Had a family breakfast here on Bank Holiday Monday. Great choice of food including the 'full English' although anything was available including pancakes with chocolate for my Granddaughter who our waiter made feel special. You could eat as much or as little as you want here at a reasonable price with good , prompt , non-fussy service.

Have visited this place pretty regularly for after work drinks, but probably won’t in the future. I went with a colleague the other night and we sat in the outside area. We were hassled by a guy who was trying to sell a CD for quite a while while as the greeter stood and looked on. I think it was pretty obvious that we were trying to get rid of him. Maybe I’m too expectant, but when we’re paying £30 for 2 very average gin and tonics and a bowl of chips, I think the staff could have shown some initiative and moved him on.

While it might be a nice place for coffee on the piazza, the food at Tuttons is overpriced and terrible quality. I ordered the roasted roots dish (£17.95) and it was very poor (only a few roots and leaves) with a harsh vinegar dressing. Very unpalatable. My friend ordered the shepherds pie and it smelled like those horrible school meals. The bill came up to £83. Absolutely wasted money!

This was our first visit to Tuttons and were pleasantly surprised at the warm reception and smiles from every member of the staff. After sitting outside we were quickly served with drinks. After a while we asked if we could go inside as it was getting cold. We were helped with our drinks and nothing was too much for the staff. Giuseppe was very attentive, helpful and happy to serve us. The food, T bone steak and roast Salmon was cooked to perfection, my steak was exactly how i like it and was good value. I would not hesitate to return or recommend Tuttons to anyone going to Covent Garden.

Expensive but if the food was great fair enough - but it was not really. 2 fish bones in the fish cake nothing with it unless you order the recommended side of potatoes - which were the best but of the dish. The burger was dry and the chips were few and not great I was offered a free tea for the inconvenience of fish bones - really!! Not even extended to both of us.
