This was a belated birthday celebration for my sister. We were in London for the day and decided to have afternoon tea at the Carnaby Restaurant, I had arranged for her 2 friends to join us there but she didn't know. The staff were very attentive to all our needs, making adjustments for our special needs. We were seated in... More

Our meal in the Carnaby restaurant was part of a special treat voucher given to us by our son which included Champagne and cinema tickets to see My Fair Lady. The first part went very well but the restaurant was awful. We came out of the cinema in the Courthouse Hotel and showed a member of staff our tickets and... More

My friend booked this on a virgin red letter voucher for our friends birthday for afternoon tea. I have had many afternoon teas and have to say this was the worst I've had. The service was good and the staff polite but the room for the tea was drab very unappealing. The food itself was very measley portions very uninspiring... More

We had afternoon tea booked as a treat for.me by my daughter on Wednesday 10th August 16 time 1pm. We arrived and was shown a table very nice we thought, sorry we were wrong, we had the standard afternoon tea called the Carnaby afternoon tea. They forgot to bring the milk we had to ask, the food was brought out... More

Vistied this Restaurant recently for a meal prior to the film showing at the In House Cinema. Service was friendly & efficient. Food was average in quality & presentation. Fair value for money. We found the décor too dark & sombre for our liking.

Dear Tickle2, Could you please contact me on roy.sommer@courthouse-hotel.com? As the Afternoon Tea you have described does not sound like as ours. We have a few months ago changed the Afternoon Tea and no longer serve the baguettes and have changed them to sandwiches. So just wanted to see when it is you visited us. We got some feedback from... My young daughter daughter booked this for me as a treat which is why I didn't complain at the time, I didn't want to disappoint her. We arrived at the Courthouse Hotel to a very unwelcoming concierge who waved us in the direction of this almost empty rather characterless room. My daughter gave in her voucher and we where bought... We almost booked the place out with a hen do when we bought vouchers as part of an experience day. The place is lovely and I'm not an afternoon tea person but the food was very good. Everyone was happy (that may have been due to the bubbly!)

After reading some of the reviews on this site I was slightly dubious about what our experience at the Champagne Afternoon Tea at the Carnaby Restaurant would turn out to be. Following a lovely (but very wet) visit to the Shard and a trip down Thames it was a delight to be warmly welcomed at the Carnaby. The lovely waitress... More

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
