Negotiated a good deal ie two free drinks each (4 of us) and any two courses including rice and naan for £12. The waiter did say something was the included at time of ordering to my friends son, which was not what we were told (I didn't hear so would have pulled him up on it). The food was great... More

There are so many Indian restaurants in London's Brick Lane that choosing a good one can be difficult. Preen has never disappointed me having visited several times over a period of many years. Good cooking, efficient service and reasonable prices.

Dosa was stale. Roti was fresh. Dal was v nice. Refused to give me a proper receipt which was bizarre. Second average restaurant in Brick Lane I've been to in two weeks. Little reason to go back.

Everyone should rate any restaurant 1 star if they use misleading adverts to claim higher TripAdvisor ratings than they have, which this did. On top of which they "forgot" to deduct the 2 drinks each they offered us for choosing their restaurant from the bill until we reminded them. Wouldn't recommend it or eat here again!

The good news is that the food is excellent. The bad news is that you cannot trust the bills or bill payment. In our case having put it through on the credit card they came back and said 'oh dear we over charged you by £5' ... no problem, just refund it, honest mistake. 'No I am sorry we can't... More

Visited here with a group of 12 people. Staff were helpful. Food was ok but nothing to get excited about. I expected more from the place. With so many curry places to chose from, there is no reason for me to return back to Preem.

This is another nail in the coffin for brick lane. It has the usual hustler outside telling u its great but it is poor with mass produced gunk instead of sauce. It is spice without flavour with chopped chicken that appears not to be coked in the sauce. No redeeming features at all

We arrived in the area on a Saturday night and each restaurant has someone outside with a sales pitch..we chose Preem & Prithi mainly because the man outside was so laid back but friendly and offered a good deal. We were happy we did as the restaurant was cozy and warm, and had real atmosphere. The food was really delicious... More

Was trying to decide where to eat and was approached in a friendly chap entirely in me into Preem. Menu choice was good. Service was fine and food was tasty. As a solo diner on business it was busy enough to not feel isolated but not too busy so as to be conspicuous. Prices were standard and reasonable enough. Only... More

we were gently accosted while walking past looking for somewhere to eat and invited in with a good patter, this was slightly better patter than some of the others, so we went in. We, the 4 of us, opted for the £9.95 menu which was a starter, main, sundry (rice or bread) and a drink. What was less obvious was... More

Staying in Spitalfields

Neighbourhood Profile
Spitalfields
For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the next big global trend, the hipster zone of Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Wedged between the business-minded City of London, expressly trendy Shoreditch, and zestful Whitechapel, the lines between traditional and contemporary beautifully blur in this historic East End nexus.
