I took my friend for a special birthday treat to the Orrery and we had a marvellous experience. The service was impeccable and the food delicious as it always is. Can't wait to return.

"A very pleasant venue, excellent service, lovely wine. The food however was extremely poor value for money. Really nothing special, small portions and very disappointing. For almost £600 for a meal for 4 including wine I’d expect something a lot more special”. I left this...review 4 weeks ago, the manager asked me to email as “He would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss this experience further with me and would love the chance to improve my opinion of Orrery.” I emailed to explain that the Tournedos Rossini wasn’t even Tournedo Rossini as it had no foie gras and no crouton. All he could offer was a 20% discount and free glass of champagne next time we visit. He didn't even respond to this point. Next time we visit? Why would we visit again when they mislead customers over the food that will be served and charge a hell of a lot for it. So I’m now leaving a 1 star in disgust to reflect how they deal with customer complaints. Our guest also made the comment that although they asked me and my husband how we'd like our steak cooked, they didn't ask him. We're white and he's black so we can only assume some element of racism.More

Orrery is a calm and delicate restaurant with spacious round tables by big circular windows, elevated somewhat from the ground. Light, airy and inviting! We fit nicely to the first table with our 8 adults family dinner and we enjoyed the whole way through the...meal. Tempting menu, delicious courses and a very friendly personal tone from the competent staff. I had the Tournedos Rossini. Highly recommendable. Orrery is a place to create memories and not only a common restaurant. Stylish all the way and a place to put on a nicer shirt and polished shoes.More

Very refined and elegant location, I stayed at the Orrery with my family for a two course lunch on Easter. Exceptional, professional and friendly staff. Very refined cuisine: delicates the Green Asparagus and the Chicken Parfait as starters, very good the Wild Mushroom Risotto with...Winter Truffle, exceptional the Tournedos Rossini, excellent wines recommended by the staff. Costs adequate to the level of the restaurant. Highly recommended.More

Incredible Food Magnificently presented : Superlative Service 5 stars Sunday Lunch at The Orrery What a treat ! Lunch for 4 - birthday celebration: Understated elegance - nicely presented table The set menu was well thought out with a balance of flavours and immaculately presented...and keenly priced for the quality of the food We were so full after the starter and mains - we all sadly had to abstain from the very inviting dessert menu. The service was impeccable The staff were very accommodating especially as one of the party has an allergy ; The photos sadly don’t do the immaculate presentation justice - each dish was delicious from the gravalax to the encrusted salmon on a bed of spinach The service is superlative. From the inception - reservation booking to the warm welcome ; attentive service ( not in your face ) throughout the meal ; Love to try new restaurant experiences. But the question is - will we come back ? Unreservedly without doubt Yes Yes and Yes !!!More

Always a pleasure to eat here. Very good food from a reassuringly small menu, with an extensive and interesting wine list. Service can sometimes be slow but is unfailingly friendly and helpful, the room is comfortable and elegant.

The mozzarella starter and beef main were fine food beautifully presented for £33 for the two courses. Huge disappointment was the preplated, with zero effort, cheese course that cost an extra £21. Truly….a ripoff……. Service from our Polish waitress was friendly and efficient, room was...tastefully, stylishly decorated with the Conran influence. I’ll come back…..just don’t have the cheese plate!!More

Agree with previous answer - 5 minutes if fit, a little longer if you amble, but no more than 8... The restaurant is at the north end of Marylebone High St - just before it meets Marylebone Rd
