We booked as a treat for our guests and it did not disappoint. Interesting dishes, presentation and flavours. We had a mix of the wine parings on offer and I have to say I preferred some of the standard wine parings to the more expensive...ones. The reindeer was my favourite dish. Go for itMore

Excellent value and content, we both had the scallop, then I had hake, my wife had the lamb curry, then I had...the poached pear and my wife the pancake A couple of glasses of wine washed it down. Very attentive staff and ambiance Will visit againMore

Fabulous food and great service. Cant recommend this restaurant enough. We had the 8 course tasting menu........there were far more courses than that and each tasted amazing and looked beautiful too. Attention to detail and knowledge of staff was outstanding.

I was introduced to this treasure land on the planet of culinary delights called “Benares Restaurant” in the heart of the most prestigious areas of London, Berkeley Square, Mayfair, London, by a young friend, who had been there many times, and loves the food. The...creativity, taste, and presentation of each and every dish is unique in character. And, while the taste buds were tantalized, the imagination got into a hyper active mode, observing and admiring the art of presentation, automatically triggering the mind, which kept appreciating and admiring the taste, creativity, and presentation. The mesmerising dishes, which I tasted first time, are simple, yet, distinctive in taste, such as Goats Paneer (Goat’s Cheese is one of my favourite, when it comes to variety of Cheese selection), and the special starters served, planted by skewers along with the Bonsai Plant, brought straight with the plant itself to the dining table, made them look like they’ve grown on the soil along with the Bonsai Plant !!!!! An amazing creative inspiration. This is also attributes to all road side street vendors in India, who seek shade under a tree while they work hard to make a living serving street food, in scorching heat under the Sun. Hats off to them. Mr. Mukesh Pandey (AGM) had been kind and patient explaining and narrating the idea behind the creativity of each and every dish in detail, which made our dining experience an enjoyable trip to the world of exotic, and adventurous foods, and I, personally would recommend everyone to try them out on their next journey to the planet of exotic culinary delights © AshMore

We were booked in for 2pm for our meal but arrived at around 1pm (due to an earlier train available to London) this was the start of a great weekend. The young lady on reception was very polite and friendly and made no fuss at...all of our early arrival, our coats were taken and we were taken to our table. We had booked for the set 3 course menu which included a Champagne cocktail which was very good, we ordered our meals and waited, within minutes we had a selection of poppadum and relishes to nibble at while we waited. Our starters came in good time and we tucked in, I had the Scallop and my Wife had the Samosa Tartlet, both were fantastic and very tasty. We both chose the Lamb for our main course with steamed rice and a potato side dish, we both also had a glass of Merlot from the wine list, this was exceptional. For desert we both chose the Pancake and Coconut Sorbet which was a great finish to the meal. Total cost was around £100, I can now see how they have regained their Michelin Star rating.More

Great location in the heart of Mayfair, staff were fabulous, ample in numbers, friendly and extremely helpful, staff deserve 5/5. We had the set course lunch with a few extras from the a la carte. Perhaps our experience reflects the items on the set menu...as opposed to the whole a la carte but they were disappointingly average, not bad by any means but very small portions which I can't see how they were worthy of a michelin star or the price tag. I would rather go to a selection of many other indian restaurants whose food are far more deserved of being in the Michelin guide - Amaya, Jamavar, Trishna, Chutney Mary.More

This restaurant is in an amazing location – right in the middle of London’s Mayfair. All the staff from doorman, reception and serving staff all very pleasant and accommodating. The décor is great, simple but so clean and spacious. You feel like you are in...an expensive restaurant. Started the meal with Bollinger followed by the Tandoori Ratan – amazing taste but needs more dipping sauce. I had the Lobster Biryani which was fantastic, the ingredients, the taste wow. My wife had the lamb chops – also very nice, you can tell its good quality meat. Dal, Naan & rice as expected, you have to be really bad to get those wrong. Desserts nothing too interesting. Lucy served our table, very friendly and not pretentious like other MICHELIN Star restaurant staff, we felt comfortable.More

we had not been for a few years so wanted to try the set lunch which for this level of restaurant was reasonably priced. The food was good and the service reasonable, what did miff us a bit was the wine pairing which was fractionally...more in price than the wines by the glass on the list, not a lot but unnecessary it did take the shine off the meal.More
