We dined at the Wolseley a number of years ago but with so many options for dinning in London had not done so for several years. Earlier this month we booked a table for dinner and were reminded that we need to make it a "must do" in the future. The staff and food are excellent. The service is polished... More

We had lunch there with American friends last week and as usual the meal was good,Our friends had never been to The Wolseley before and they were very happy with the experience. The service was good and one can happily say same old, same old which is complimentary.

Great place to meet for breakfast, although certainly priced for the area. Service highly attentive and the room is gorgeous. Food very tasty and decent range of options (for breakfast). Only issue is that noise can be a problem for conversation as the high ceilings and hard surfaces (with no carpet) mean you should request the small enclosed room to... More

Location: Excellent Table/Seating Comfort: Fine (Could do better) Menu: Limited, Old Fashioned Food Quality: Poor Wine List: Good Service: Good - Except when asked to leave the restaurant when eating dessert because other guests were waiting. Damn cheek! My friend and I were not informed of having a limited time window and were upset at being asked to leave like... More

We found the Wolseley by chance last night and popped in after a shopping day. We were seated relatively quickly and the staff were professional, friendly and attentive. I had the Quail egg starter, with my mum and sister opting for the salad (Roquefort maybe?) then followed by a half lobster, chips and kale. Sancerre was delicious and around £55... More

I have been here for many occasions, less so lately and I know again why. The food is always good or even great but the staff is getting more and more obnoxious and has a tendency to be arrogant and slow. But the interior is still stunning and if you like people watching... here youa re!

Visited here again for an evening meal and it never fails to disappoint. The service is impeccable here and seamless-the waiting staff just appear when needed. We started with a drink in the bar then had a table on the upper floor. We all had a fish starter some fish goujons that were gorgeous and scallops with bacon that were... More

Lunch time meeting with old friends. Nice ambiance. Wine list mainly French - good quality but over priced. Started with Moules which were excellent followed by Calves Liver with Bacon for main. Good gastropub food but nothing outstanding. Service decidedly iffy. No real interest in securing us. Waited 15mins to order a drink and 20 mins to order food. Food... More

I have eaten here many times, breakfast, lunch and dinner usually as a couple or a group of 4. I have always been very impressed with the food and found the service to be attentive. However, this time we went for pre-opera dinner on a Saturday. There were 7 of us and we were put on a table next to... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
