Met here for a catch up with friends on a Friday evening. The staff were great, friendly but not imposing. We all had 3 courses and everyone enjoyed all the dishes presented. Service and the space between each course was perfect. The pasta dishes were fantastic. Will certainly be back

Tucked away in Bow Churchyard off Cheapside, the restaurant has a light feel with windows down one side and many of the tables looking out. Decor is traditional with great cornices with a grape decoration and walls covered with racing photos/pictures. Menu has typical Italian offerings with a smaller special lunchtime menu at two courses for £20. We both went... More

Appeciated when an experienced reviewer and foodie finds the time to post his comments. I always make a point of reading the reviewers other posts, which go towards our understanding of his review and how we take on board his comments. More

Wow this restaurant, ok mentioned before the £4 charge for main course pastas / risotto, but £16 for the worse risotto I've ever seen, frozen prawns, suppose to be tiger prawns, I'd have been embarrassed serving that to a friend if I'd cooked it! Wonder if a starter portion could have been smaller? I had sea bass with prawns, same... More

I should bite my tongue and just ignore this review. Accept that the odd unhappy ill informed person use internet disinhibition to write stuff like this. It makes them happy. And the restaurant just has to grin and accept it. I would point out that in fact I am happy to accept constructive criticism. That is how we can maybe... More

We went for a team lunch . The service was very chaotic and we had to wait a long time to order our drinks and wine.and some of the order was incorrect. The food was good.I have been here a few times over the years but this time I was disappointed with the service.

Apologies to this customer who still had the good grace to give us a good rating. No excuse but we have had a few regular staff leave and it takes a little time to get new staff working the way we would like. Hopefully on another visit we can rectify. More

Went there for lunch. It was great that they offer two sizes of pasta dishes - the smaller size was great for lunchtime! I really enjoyed the pasta with crab dish. The tiramisu was fantastic. A really great feel to this restaurant - a genuine Italian ambience and good efficient service for city workers. Looking forward to going back!

I returned to Taberna Etrusca after a 10 year absence; I'm pleased to say, if anything, it was better than I remembered. Excellent.

I came here with a friend for a quick Christmas lunch. We thoroughly enjoyed our food (risotto and seafood pasta), however the portions were too big for lunch service and would have preferred the smaller portion (which isn't available as a main). We loved the crackers and festive treats on our table. For service at Christmas time we thought it... More

Christmas is alway a tricky time to judge a restaurant but £40 for 3 courses of which only two came(coffee never came) is understandably difficult. Meal was basic, the turkey was average, the aside of veg was cold. On the whole not good, il Bordello in Wapping could give them a lesson

With regret that we received this review, considering our many statsified customers over this extremely busy period. However our Christmas menus were at £34 and £39 for choice of 5/6 dishes for starters and 6/7 main course choices with a selection of deserts, including coffee and petit fours. The food/pasta that we order was ready in 2 min, a sing that the food was pre-cooked from before. We order pasta that in the menu was saying that was £11.50. Later, when we had to pay they add £4.00 per dish extra because the manager that took the order said that we didn't specify if our pasta is a... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
