After 4 years living very near to this place, we finally went on a Saturday for lunch. We were 2, which is ideal since it is walk in but the space is limited, around 15 small tables in total. Perfect for breakfast and lunch since the menu is a mix of British breakfast ( all day long) and some Italian specialties like lasagne or cannelloni. I went for the second, with tomato sauce (in alternative there is ragu sauce with is with meat and tomato sauce). We also had a bruschetta, which was delicious. The atmosphere is very warm and informal, and the family members of the pellicci family are nice and fun, including the incredible mum in the kitchen :) prices very modest for London, I think in total we paid something like 40 pounds in two, beers included. A nice place for a chat with a friend, consider that it can get very noisy since the place is small but very pleasant.

The reviewer lordstillwavy (10 Feb) states that this restaurant is 'Very typical'. It is anything but, of course, being one of a dying breed of family run, good value, traditional restaurants. I presume that lordstillwavy is Spanish, so I will forgive him his use of an inappropriate adjective. To my surprise, I walked straight in yesterday without queuing, at about 2pm. Needless to say, the place filled up shortly afterwards. If you value your space, this is perhaps not the place for you, as you have to be prepared to share a table. No problem, as everybody here is very friendly. I had the mixed grill at £11. It was massive! They had run out of lamb chops, so the waitress asked me if I would eat a veal escalope instead. It was superb! On the way out the waitress - presumably a member of the family who owns it - gave me a piece of her Mother's homemade treacle tart. That was also superb. No, this place is not typical, it is unique.

Lovely big fry up for £8.50 all fresh and tasted homemade! So much flavor in the sausage. Coffee was so tasty like it was made by somebody who knew what was doing. Got talking to a few of the staff all so welcoming and smiley despite being busy they all took time to speak to you and make you feel like regulars! Couldn’t recommend more. Help out this great cafe and pay then a visit!!

As soon as you walk in the door the Pellicci family make you feel very welcome. If you come back a second time you've become a regular and they welcome you as part of the family. Food is still cooked by Mama in the kitchen and it's large hearty portions. The queue to get in is long but it moves quickly. If you have a chance to go to Pellicci's make sure you go.

Pellicis is a veritable East End institution, a fixture in the Bethnal Green Road since 1900 and steeped in local history. Famous for its classic English cafe grub, it’s full English breakfasts and strong tea are the stuff of legend. A family business, the current generation proprietors brother and sister exude the old school cockney cheer, humour and hospitality that make this place so popular with its regular customers. Small - some say cramped, others say cozy - it’s distinctive wood panelling and old style decor have hardly changed since 1900. For a slice of good down to earth English fare and East End bonhomie, Pellicis is a must.

We visited E Pellicci as we were visiting g the East End on a sightseeing and pub tour. The cafe is easily visible on the main road just past Vallance Road. On arrival we were very warmly welcomed by the female owner who is a real character. The inside has wooden art decor style wood panelling and detailing with some lovely details in the glass. There are signed pictures of East Enders actors and a still from the film ‘Legend’ with Tom Hardy playing both Kray Twins in the science filmed in the caff. The seating is close in quite a small caff but it’s comfortable and the small hatch to the kitchen is used to transport food and for the exchange of friendly banter with the clearly local and regular customers. We were seated and ordered the veggie breakfasts much to the amusement of the owner who gently rubbed us about this in exchanges with us and other customers. We enjoyed the banter with us and other customers and felt welcome and at home. The food itself came with the usual plus unusually bubble and squeak. This was a welcome addition and works really well with the beans, fried tomato etc. the egg was well cooked on a perfect slice of fried bread. Mushrooms were good. All produce was clearly fresh. We also had a coffee. Proper Italian stuff not the instant rubbish you might get elsewhere. The meal and coffee comes in at over a tenner which isn’t the cheapest, but given the quality and surroundings I’m not complaining. They also do traditional English and Italian food for lunch. This is a very friendly, fun and proper east end cafe that attracts regulars and is doing what it does well providing a great service. We were made to feel at home and given a warm welcome and good food. If I lived near, I’d be a regular.

Short menu. No need for more. We tried 4 dishes and shared a big ciabatta in the middle. Had also 4 starters/sides. Nothing sophisticated as a good Italian must be. Best Italian in London. Left fed for months and gave a £5 tip each, with a beer and coffees, we paid £20 all included. Can’t beat the price, coming back in a week.

E Pellici Cafe is a must visit in London as it has been here since the 1900s serving English breakfasts. Breakfast has always been my thing but I am one of those people who can't make up my mind when it comes to breakfast as there are so many choices. At E Pellici, there are four choices to be exact, two regular ones and two non meat ones but still it was difficult. When I found out about the Christmas sandwich, my mind was made up for that. It was not on the menu or posted anywhere so at the time of ordering I did not know what was in it or the price of the sandwich. The sandwich arrived with a bowl of gravy and it was big enough for two with all that meat in it as I had pork and turkey! It was a nice sandwich but it felt odd without any cranberry sauce and apple sauce which at the time of dining I didn't know they were missing until I saw someones post on social media. I think I would have given it top marks in taste if there was sauce but I wasn't aware until I left. May revisit in future for the bubble.

What a fabulous morning my brother and I had in this unique and friendly place. We had 2 mixed grills with chips which were huge, fresh and delicious. Coffee was also fab. The best part of it all was the amazing staff who were soooo entertaining with the banter between them and their customers. I'll definitely be back and would recommend this place to anyone.

My fave place I have visited in my two trips to London. Nev is the man so welcoming and friendly loved the banter with us and took the time to recommend places to go and chat with us!!! Have told everybody about this place. Food is top quality and even better that its a family run business. There's something about this from having a beer and some chips waiting on your table to the actual food itself. Only downside was I didn't try the jam roll poly. Always next time. The lasagne is the best!!! 😊

I love English Fry up breakfast. This thing already comes with eggs (your way), sausage, bacon, tomato, mushroom, toast and beans. This would be enough for most people with restraint but I had to order the fat homemade chips. Service is friendly and the decor is family style. Not expensive.

I dont even want to review this because it gets crowded as it is, but i can honestly say that for me, this is the best classic cafe in London still standing. Others may have more classy retro decor, but E. Pellicci has some cute homespun Art Deco ish woodpanelling, the required formica tavles, and, above all, high quality food, great coffee and friendly service. My favourite cafe in London, and its becoming a tradition to get off the airport bus and go on a walk for their generous cooked (veggie) breakfast. Everything is freshly cooked and of good quality. They do have a solid fan base, mostly locals but plenty tourists especially on the weekends. So best arrive early on weekends or visit during the week when its less frantic. If you want to experience some classic English cooking, forget the afternoon tea and go for the full English here.

I’m sure you’ve all heard about E Pelicci before and what you’ve heard is absolutely true! They really should have this place down with Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, and Buckingham Palace as the absolute must places to visit whilst in London. I guarantee that you will not receive a warmer welcome anywhere else. I’ve been twice and I feel like one of the family and you can see them warmly welcoming anyone who passes through the door. It’s great to simply just sit there and people watch as there are so many fascinating stories to hear! But obviously you need to try the food, I had the veggie breakfast minus the egg as I’m vegan and I as blown away! More than generous with the portions and all the ingredients are top quality and freshly cooked. I can only imagine how amazing the breakfast is with the eggs, bacon etc. They also do other meals but I did not see them but I was treated to some amazing bread and butter pudding and a tart made fresh by Mama Maria! Prices are very good as well, you certainly won’t find a better breakfast at any price. But as I said the real jewel in the crown is the welcome, a real East End experience and nothing short of wonderful! Go Go Go!!! 🥰🥰🥰

Me and a friend travelled to Stratford from Oxford but were recommended that we stopped in Bethnel Green to have breakfast at E.Pelliccis. Proper cafes are hard to come by these days in Oxford so we were really looking forward to it. It didn't disappoint. We sat inside and the decor is brilliant. We both ordered the "have the lot" which is one of the biggest breakfasts I've ever eaten and the quality of the food was brilliant. (I ate at half 10, didn't have to eat again until 9) The staff were all really attentive and hard working, but also looked like they really enjoyed what they do. The banter flying round that cafe was so good to hear. Everyone in there were smiling. They don't accept card payments and I didn't have cash on me so had to go and get some. I guess normally I would have cash but I'm just getting used to carrying it again after the cashless covid world we have become used to. But I'm looking forward to visiting again sometime. Next time I would love to try some of the other food on offer. Keep up the good work guys, what a lovely establishment you have.
