About
This nineteenth-century, Grade II-listed pub was once called the King of Prussia, before it changed its name to this altogether more-patriotic moniker shortly after Edward VII's death in 1910. It's known by locals today as the King Eddie. It's been sympathetically renovated but remains divided by ornately tiled walls and frosted-glass dividers. There's a sunken bar, too, as well as a dark-wood saloon bar, a back room and a little patio out back. Beer is a focus, with draught options including Deuchars IPA, Timothy Taylor's Landlord, Adnam's Broadside and Hopback Summer Lightning. There's food of a gastropub bent, too – think dishes such as confit duck leg, steak and chips, and posh burgers.

Good neighbourhood pub - and a great place to grab a drink if you’re in the area. The food is a little hit and miss and the wait for food is sometimes quite long. We waited for over an hour for our food on a Sunday once - so if you’re in a rush then this may not be the best choice. However if you’ve got time, are willing to wait it out with a few drinks, then this could be a good option. I enjoyed the Eddie Special burger though - the onion rings on top of the burger were a yummy addition!

Been coming here to the PRUSSIA since I was 15 years old, Now come here on visits back to my birthplace mostly West Ham match days.Having tried loads of pubs and westfield bars this is now my favorite pub, great service from the bar , brilliant young local girls pulling pints with little fuss and the governor has even taught 'em how to pour a proper pint too (unlike westfield rip off bars!) great atmosphere and music. Well done to all the staff. see you next game x

Called in on the off chance to see if they did Sunday lunch. Was left standing at the bar for ages as the bar staff appeared not to notice me. Eventually got served but had to actually yell my order, the music was so loud. There was no draught ale available at all. The roast lamb arrived in good time, though, and was tasty enough. However, if the noisy music wasn't bad enough, people (including the bar staff!) were smoking right outside the open door and the whole bar reeked of cigarettes. Unlikely to go back.

Asked for Inches cider which the rather off hand barmaid started to pour in the glass then I noticed she had changed to Thatchers cloudy cider. I reminded her that I wanted inches and she said oh sorry I don’t have any more of that. Most peculiar I then asked for a pint of Diet Coke and got 1/2 pt . Again I reminded her what I’d asked for and she tutted and poured the drink into a pint glass and poured a bit more in . It was still i1 inch from the top. Won’t be going back. Loud music at lunch time is inappropriate as you can’t hear yourself speak

I enjoyed a sunday roast with my dear friend Michael, I often come here in the week for a few pints and bite to eat also. The staff are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble for the girls. They always spoil us and go above and beyond. The roast dinners are also fabulous too and excellent quality for money.

I have been to this pub now about three times in four years but not again. The house white wine is just awful, what is it your serving? I know it's only house white but its should at least be palatable. I could not even finish the glass. Other pubs house white is far better. Next we wanted some chips. You can choose various types of chips. Fat chips, thin, curly etc. My friend and I chose fat chips. What a disgrace. They were not cooked fresh were horribly soggy like fat slugs, no crispiness whatsoever and had clearly been cooked ages ago, and reheated. Just awful. Please sort your house wine and chips out. Your customers deserve better.

Female bartender gave us a right negative attitude the moment she saw us walked in, kindly asked her for espresso martini since we noticed the cocktail mixers on their shelf, she gave us a very unprofessional answer that they aren’t doing any cocktails, either that’s cause they were too busy or they couldn’t be arsed, neither more we choose a simple Jack Daniel’s with coke, not asking if we’d like the honey preference but hey nothing we really fussed about, we then sat down at an available table (what looked available to us, as a customer) after half an hour being sat down and half way through our drinks she shouted over the bar to say that the table we were sat on were reserved, something we had not given a second thought just because there was a table cloth on and a couple if Christmas crackers, normally when tables are reserved restaurants and pubs place signs on the table clearly displaying that the table is reserved. Thought it was incredibly unprofessional of her to shout over the bar and treat us very unfairly and rude. I worked in countless bars before I know the pressure bar staff have but there is absolutely no reason to talk to customer they she spoke to us, never again this bar!

What can I say? At least there was plenty of gravy. The plate was swimming in it. I probably could best describe the Roast beef dinner as home cooked fair. Which would have been ok but it was completely over cooked the the veg had lost all bite. The beef itself was over cooked and tough. The best but was probably the Yorkshire pudding but that might have been because it was a frozen one. The one saving Grace was the Guinness was good. Will I be back probably not.

I popped in for a drink while waiting for a bus and was quite surprised to see a Tardis like pub that seemed to stretch back for miles. I got talking to the manager who has recently taken over while he was repairing an ale tap and he has big plans for the place talking about booking music on a Friday, starting a poker night and getting a monthly comedy night going in the function room. I'll definitely be along to check in his progress and try those ales he is putting on the pump!

I am sorry to say but the good old days of Eddie's are gone. It is not the same pub it used to be. Rather depressing place considering it was Friday evening and usually this pub was beaming with joy and good atmosphere. Well, no more. The friend i brought in there pointed out that it felt more like a drug den than the pub, with some shady clientele eating a KFC behaving rather rowdy, loud and inappropriate (unless the management will argue that pin holding persons leg and discharging fire extinguisher in her crouch is oh so funny and acceptable behaviour. I'll wait). Did not feel safe there at all. Disappointing.

Visited the other Thursday. Most imp ressed by the friendly service & the smile of the bar person who really done the pub credit. She was helpful when we asked directions to another place & we promised to be back soon! We will spread the word that this is a great place to visit. Beer prices are good as well! Great for people watching on the seats outside. An all round impressive pub. Peteloaf & Liza b

Shocking that this pub had virtually no beers available on a west ham match day .all pumps except some lager ones were off ,back bar closed .we was told they dont have the staff to open the back bar and didnt seem bothered about the lack of beers .there were 12 of us and we all left and went to the much better black bull just down the road .we wont be meeting here in future .

The pub would not serve us because a couple of drunks we didn't know followed us in. Barkeep assumed we were together. Feedback from other pubs regarding cleanliness and food were poor.
