Amazing service, attention to detail and great (unique & tasty) food. It was my second time here and I’ll definitely go back soon. We loved everything we ordered and really had a memorable time. There is no place like this anywhere else, I went back...to London for work and this is the 1st place I booked to go back to. Thank you & see you soon!More

Enjoyed a wonderful meal celebrating a family birthday. The food was not only unusual it was also very tasty and well cooked with a lovely infusion of interesting flavours. I would especially recommend the Zebra and the Elk. Save room for dessert though as they...are outstanding. All this done in a wonderfully decorated restaurant with excellent friendly and welcoming service.More

I went to Archipelago many years ago before it moved to its current location and remember not just the quality of the (very unusual) food but also how much fun the whole experience was. I booked again for a friend's birthday and it was exactly...as fantastic as I remembered. As a bit of fun you're given a password which you give before ordering, and the hand towel is a lovely piece of theatre in itself. The menus are beautifully presented and the decor a true stimulation of curiosity. There are such unusual dishes including crickets, ostrich, kangaroo, all delicious, all looking intriguing and appetising, and because it was a birthday they even prepped a treat with dessert. Our waitress was superb - welcoming, knowledgeable and lovely to chat with. I would certainly return and recommend in the much nearer future. Thank you, Archipelago, for a really wonderful afternoon.More

I've been to many London restaurants over the years, many are nice but forgettable. Archipelago was one I will remember for a long time, not only for its creative decor and imaginative menu but also the staff who had plenty of time to chat and...explain through the unusual food menu. I ended up having various insects in each of the 3 courses, which was suprisingly tasty. The food and wine overall was first class, as was the whole experience. At the end of the night I learnt that our waiter was actually the owner of the restaurant, having worked his way up from a kitchen porter. Overall very inspirational and can't wait to return soon!More

Amazing! If you’re looking for something different then definitely somewhere to try! We chose 4 starters to share so that we could experience some of the quirkier items on the menu. Everything we ate was well prepared and tasted great! The place was very clean...and the host/waiter was extremely friendly. Slightly on the pricier side but is expected for the quality of the good and the exoticness of the menu. Definitely would go back, and would recommend it too!More

I really loved this place. This is a 5* experience rather than a 5* restaurant but well worth the money. Decor was very quirky, waiter and waitress both went above and beyond and described the dishes as they arrived. Starters quite small. Main meal crocodile...curry was amazing. Approach cocktails with caution .... the one with wasabi in was very unusual! Must visit at least once if you appreciate an unusual atmosphere and food.More

We had this table booked before covid and were lucky it reopened because the food was wonderful, service great and the host took care to make sure all covid guidelines were followed. We were the only 2 in the restaurant but that didnt spoil it...for us. The decor was different but warm and inviting. The cost is a bit steep so I'd say this is a great place for a special occasion. We tried the zebra, alpaca, ostritch and snake. All beautifully cooked and the chef kindly altered the meal for me. Archipelago cocktail was lovely tooMore

I've known about the Archipelago for a few years and have wanted to go ever since hearing about it. I was not disappointed and will not leave it so long before coming back again! It's a bit off the beaten track near Soho and is...very exotically decorated. The presentation of the menu is a fun touch, and the food was thoroughly excellent. We shared the crispy zebra to start, followed by the alpaca for me and the kangaroo for my other half. The alpaca is a spicy pulled meat affair wrapped in a banana leaf and it was wonderful, but I have to say I think kangaroo is my new favourite meat. It was so tender and so brilliantly flavoured. We finished with the chocolate covered locusts for me (one of the main things I wanted to try) and the mediaeval hive honey dessert for the other half. I enjoyed the locusts although my partner did not, so they're definitely an acquired taste! The honey and brown butter dessert was enjoyed by both of us though, what we've concluded can only have been powdered honeycomb on the plate was just amazing. The service was so friendly and helpful, as well as being surprisingly fast. There's a 90 minute slot allocated to your booking, so if you finish a bit earlier than that, as we did, they don't try to rush you out. Utterly fantastic, I would seriously recommend giving this place a try, and not just for the novelty of eating exotic meats, the food is genuinely excellent. Not cheap, but definitely worth the money and I'm always happy to pay more for good food. We will be returning to sample more of their menu, hopefully in the not too distant future!More

We were greeted into the restaurant by very friendly staff and spent the first few minutes just looking around. The decor is very unusual and there are a lot of interesting things to look at. The food was unusual, reasonably priced, well presented and most...importantly delicious. There was a decent wine list to go along with the food also. The restaurant is slightly off the beaten track, but also happens to be on the same street as a really nice wine bar (Remedy) which is an ideal place to go on to afterwards.More

We were intrigued by the menu and booked a table as recommended. Place wasn´t filled that night so maybe we would have gotten away without booking. Staff was lovely and helpful unfortunately did the food not life up to the hype. Kangaroo was very tough...and the Ostrich steak was also just a bit chewy. The Lebanese wine was delicious and also the desert was very good. All in all we maybe caught them on an off-night.More

Absolute rubbish Zoominabout. Many restaurants have a pre theatre menu where service is quick. It suits the customer, as they need to get to a show, and suits the restaurant as they can have another set of customers on that... More
