I really enjoyed that night at this restaurant which is so unusual and sophisticated. It is not so much the environment, but the food, which is infused with many savours and spices that it melts in your mouth for a long time. Yes, you are eating insects or weird meet such as python, and yet it is utterly delicious. The... More

Had a birthday choice of going here or The Ritz. Feeling adventurous l chose Archipelago and am glad that l did. So much more interesting and fun than plates piled high with cakes and sandwiches ! To get the most out of the experience my friend and l gave each other tasters from our plates. A good tactic imo. For... More

We went there with my family and it was a really nice experience. The place is cosy & exotic. Service is good with nice waiters. - Python was very good, dressing as well. - Crickets were good but we didn't like at all the side with it. We had around 6 micro crickets in the plate so you should consider... More

Fancy eating kangaroo, crocodile and other exotic animals? Then this place will satisfy your curiosity. I've wanted to go here for years and finally got around it when I found a cheap Groupon. It was sensational. Food: We had a selection of different meats with different sides and all of them were fabulous. We had kangaroo skewers, jerked alpaca and... More

I wanted to treat my husband to some different foods, and as our guilty pleasure is to watch the eating challenges on I'm a celebrity, we also wanted to try insects as well. This restaurant had both!!! The restaurant decoration is a mixed celebration of different cultures and there isn't 2 of anything! The menus were scrolls and the options... More

Having just watched the South African rugby team draw to the Barbarians I certainly needed some cheering up. Archipelago did just that and more! From the cryptic password required on entry to the eclectic decor from across the world and of course, the food, Archipelago not only lived up to expectations but completely blew them out of the water. Go... More

I heard a lot about this place, arrived with high expectations and it still managed to exceed them. Service is very good, with menus being presented in the form of scrolls in wooden boxes. The dishes - crocodile, zebra, ostrich - aren't just novelties, they are very well cooked and delicious. I particularly recommend the crispy zebra, the ostrich and... More

This place is in my top 5 ever restaurants, I had kangaroo the meat fell apart with a deep flavour with a complimentary sauce, my partner had Alpaca with melted in the mouth. We tried chocolate covered scorpions for dessert. The only bad part was we wished we'd tried a starter. If your going out in London I totally recommend... More

We went here to satisfy our curiosity to try unique and exotic dishes. With a menu boasting python, apacca and insects archipelago lived up to our expectations. The quality is actually quite good, especially the apacca which resembles Mexican tamales. Such rare delicacies don’t come cheap, so if you’d like to sample them without“investing” too much, start with lunch which... More

Service was lovely especially the way the food was introduced and explained. The decor was in keeing with the exotic nature of the dishes. We had crocodile and alpaca. Cobra and Ostrich crickets and rather more mundanely chicken I

Description
If Archipelago were a film it would definitely be one of the Indiana Jones series. First, the menu features all manner of exotic beasties - locusts, zebra, crocodile and second the decor is an exotic mix of golden buddhas, dwarf palms and giant peacock feathers. The staff will talk you through each dish, but there's also chicken, fish, lamb and extensive vegetarian options. It's a great night out for the more adventurous - or if you happen to be having Ray Mears to stay.
