During a short trip to the Capital recently for work, and electing to stay in bohemian Earls Court for the duration, I paid a visit to one of my favourite eateries after an absence of several decades. The iconic, intimate Troubadour still endures despite more recent difficulties in these troubled times. Much has changed down Old Brompton Road, but the... More

I love this place so much - friendly staff and great wholesome bistro style food The atmosphere is always buzzing and all the different nooks and crannies make you feel like you are in a magic place The bar downstairs has great live bands on as well Bring back the sweet potatoes

I visited for dinner with friends who have been there frequently, although it's not in the area where they live. It is close to the Brompton Cemetery, which we toured, this cemetery being one of the original garden cemeteries in London, from the Victorian era. Troubadour has a 2 for 1 cocktail time and I had an espresso martini, my... More

...be very careful when you order weird and wonderful teas. Take the advice of the staff first. I didn't, and my tea tasted like bacon!

Not worth the effort, an overpriced over rated spot. Would recommend for a drink in the evening on the basement, but nothing more. Food is average bad.

We visited the restaurant without a reservation early on a Friday evening and were lucky enough to be offered a table. The food was OK, and the service quick and friendly. The only problem I had was with the miniscule text at the bottom of the menu that mentioned a 12,5% service charge which would be shared amongst the staff.... More

Met with a friend and it is still an atmospheric venue. They used to have an amazing omelette which has disappeared from the menu. In it's place we ordered a caesar salad which was quite small bearing in mind the price; presentation wasn't great, served in a sort of metal dog bowl with thousands of croutons in lieu of extra... When I lived in Earls Court 20 years ago I visited this place daily and loved it. I spent many lovely evenings here so I was excited to be going back. It still looks fantastic but I was so disappointed. I had booked a table which they said they had no knowledge of despite my name being on the list... More

I loved the place. The decoration is very original and cute, which makes of it an intimate place. Unfortunately, the food is pub food, nothing too exciting or new, so don't expect to find an original dish.

Thank Lorea M

'With more soul than a millipede wearing size 17 boots, ceilings and walls strewn with the instrumental heirlooms of a bygone bohemia, this 50s cafe screams throw-back. Successfully and audaciously blending 50s coffee bar, wine bar, club, music venue and breakfast bar with an easy smoothness, this live music haven is the cornerstone of Old Brompton Road, which has refreshingly resisted the modern humdrum of high street homogeny. Comfort and conviviality ooze as you can sup European classic wine offerings or New World fare, nurse a hot chocolate or bury your face in an omelette big enough to swallow you whole.' Alex HomerThe Troubadour, established in 1954, has gently expanded to include a larger cafe and live music club, an award winning garden, a specialist wine shop and comfy wine bar, a great gallery for exhibitions and parties and lastly a luxurious serviced appartments, The Garret, at the top of the building & The Eleanor on the floor below. A great place to relax while the world passes you by....
