Bentley’s has been serving it’s seafood delights and feeding the hungry shopping masses for over 102 years, a haven for fresh oysters, grilled fish and steaks from around the British & Irish Isles and has been under the watchful eye of Michelin star Chef Richard Corrigan for the past 12 years. The sensitive restoration of this famous restaurant has retained many original features of the building and the spirit of Bentley's original arts and crafts heritage has been preserved in the carefully thought-out choice of furnishings, fabrics and wallpapers. American oak flooring, light wooden panelling and the reframed old Bentley's fish paintings all add to the relaxed air of calm, understated luxury.

If oysters are your thing, then Bentley’s must have the most comprehensive selection in London and our go to place when in town. Also try the curried monk fish which the chef made a variation for me, with a half and half (rice and fries)...to accompany a perfect dish. Lovely Irish guy served us (sorry no name) who really made the evening go smoothly.More

Great location, food, ambience etc but dreadful service!! For a place with so many staff, how you can fail or be attentive and have no sense of engagement with the diners is amazing. 20 mins after ordering a drink still hadn’t arrived, on asking again...the waitress then poured a glass of sparkling wine and offered it as champagne. Everything was done by a different member of staff, no one was looking after us and we had to ask for everything we wanted. The bill at the end was also wrong and took 10 mins to arrive and 3 goes to get right. Such a shame for a great restaurant.More

Retaurant with a great location, atmosphere and a menu that can satisfy any sophisticated palate. In addition to very good options of oysters, the menu has some very good dishes, not without mentioning an extraordinary cellar. The service is very good in this place. Whether...for business or pleasure, this is a must-visit place in London.More

Receptionist very helpful and location nice. Service was poor - restaurant was half empty and table behind us walked out as menus didn’t arrive etc. Waiting staff seemed too busy pushing diners to keep ordering more drinks. We had two soups to start - nothing...special. Royal seafood platter was marginally better but not worth the £100 spent. Had to approach check in desk for bill as nobody returned to see if we wanted coffee etc. When I asked for service charge (£26) to be removed was challenged - this is discretionary anyway, but gave back honest feedback. I don’t expect to be questioned on this, especially as this is the first time I have felt service was so bad that a tip is out of the question. My feedback was dismissed without any apologies. Had been looking forward to coming here as we visit the other fish restaurant next door and have never had any complaints so expected a nice lunch.More

Delicious food and service was excellent our server was Elisa who informed us in great detail of the food and wine. Our starters were delicious my husband has octopus and chorizo which was last nights special I had the tuna, we then had the turbot...special dish for 2 ….so delicate and the lovely house salad every thing was excellent. Unfortunately our evening was completely ruined by the grey suit we were seated beside …..thee most obnoxious man I have ever come across in my life ….his manners towards the staff was deplorable…. First off he told them to remove the 2 glasses of champagne then he proceeded to demand a martini but his regulations to the staff on how to make it for him was beyond a joke …..so bad mannered. I really felt uncomfortable with him being seated so close to me . That would be one issue I would have about returning ….. the seating in the area to the left as you enter are much too close ……apart from his ignorance beside me I did not want to hear about his successful week etc ….. nor did I want to hear the person on my right side full conversation …..tables much too close for comfort!……note to all obnoxious grey suits……its nice to be important , but its more important to be nice. !!More

We went for a no-choice wine dinner (paying in full in advance, which I am sure keeps the 'no shows' down) and overall we were pretty impressed. £150 'all in' bought four courses - oysters with Vietnamese flavours, roast scallop with apple & sorrel, sea...bass with asparagus & wild garlic and garrigue strawberries with vanilla ice cream & champagne jelly, washed down with a still white and four sparkling wines, all from Rathfinny Estate in Sussex. Food and wine were all excellent, service was keen and well informed and a good time was had by all at the one communal table. The only caveat I would enter was that at this level of dining you'd expect something by way of an amuse bouche and to be offered a choice as to how you'd like your coffee, plus perhaps a wafer thin mint with it. But we'd certainly go back.More

Hubby was in jeans and a shirt and I was casual but smart - felt very comfortable and not underdressed at all.
