I've been going to Arment's all my life. It's like a tradition for us, and it never gets boring. It's proper, honest, and part of the local fabric of life. You just sit down with a couple of pies and mash and take a look around. All types of people will be in there. Rich, poor, old, young, black, white... More

Picked up take away today for us and our neighbours.... it is still just as good as it always has been, the owner even recognised me having not been in for sometime, all his staff are lovely as well.... it's low fat, hearty,... Enjoyed double double yet again at Londons finest pie & mash outlet. Sorry - double double is two pies, double mash and liquor. There is no other shop that comes close to matching WJ Arment's for quality and smashing friendly staff.

In my opinion you can't claim to have reallly "done" London without eating pie mash and eels. Every Cockney will have their own favourite pie and mash place but as a Camberwell lad born and bred this is the best in my book. Simply the best with friendly, helpful staff and a proper South London welcome. If you never had... More
